  1. I'd just trade it in. Seems like a good deal with how many miles she has but who knows. Maybe somebody will buy it from you.

Exactly my thoughts....Kinda hard to turn her loose though. Nothing wrong with her it’s just that I do travel a lot and.....

Just offering her up to those who would take the best care of her...

  2. Anyone interested in a Black 2003 SSS mostly stock Daily Driver...Dealer has offered 10k in trade. Offering to SS guys 1st 10k takes it. If there is some interest, I will upload pics etc. Great Condition, Dealer maintained. 1 Owner. No damage runs strong, not a racer. Has Hotchkiss Sways, Air Bags and Volant CAI. 3. Considering selling it. Guaging interest.

    Thinking about 18K

  4. It's the Dealerships that are really hurting the "Big 3". I could tell a few horror stories...I am religious about service every 3k miles and I travel all over the states in my SSS.

I have been lied to, overcharged, charged for work not done, charged for parts that do not exist on my truck and had very very very poor customer service. I've had things stolen from inside the truck, greasy hand prints on the headliner, greasy footprints on my custom floor mats. Oh and yes the dreaded "could not duplicate". I could go on and on.

Yep, Corporate America and the almighty Dollar. Some people will do anything for a Buck. Damn, now I'm on a rant!!

  5. :jester: Damn...no matter what you own....if you don't have a goood dealership/mechanic yU are SCREWED...Bredemann Chevy in Park Ridge.Ill whatever the problem from my SSR's,SSS TBSS or 454SS it gets done right...

:withstupid: No major issues with any GM products....I have had many GM cars and trucks over the years. Sounds like a Stealership issue to me. Take it somewhere else!!

I have over 125k on mine and the only major was a tranny. That was my own fault. And hey, be fair, tailgate bezels dont break themselves!! And remember the time tested and true statement; If it has Tits or Wheels, it's gonna cause you problems!!

  6. OK I feel inclined to chastise you here, going more than 10-over in town (35 zone) is very dangerous for you because 99% of drivers CANNOT judge speed and will think you are only going 35 and pull right out in front of you. That said, I think you're screwed because the courts will not expect officers to be automotive experts so they let a lot of shit slide - if the officer got on the ticket the essential facts that (1) it was a truck, (2) correct license plate number, (3) correct color then that's close enough for the judge. If you take it to hearing the judge will basically ask "do you own a black truck with a tag SSPEDN" and when you admit 'yes I do' then he'll say that's close enough for government work and hand down sentence - *if* you were only doing 6-7 mph over then he might let it slide, but 18-over in a 35 zone you can count on an ass-whippin.

    Mr. P.

PS - "Passenger Car" in some jurisdictions is a legal term, meaning any vehicle under xxxx-pounds curb weight that the state does not collect PUC taxes on (commercial vehicles). Our 1/2-ton trucks technically are passenger cars, in a legal sense. You gotta think like a lawyer when it comes to reading a ticket.

Ok, P I hear ya....The Fact that the Ticket was filled out incorrectly is not my main point here.

    A. ) I say I was not in a Construction Zone based on the Speed Limit Sign and that the Speed Limit is actually 45 mph there. ( Illinois requires Construction Speed Zones to have speed limit clearly marked and have a statement attached stating 375.00 minimum fine as part of said sign.)

The picture is of the roadway at about the point where he indicated he hit me with Laser., Note the Shell Station at the bottom of the hill. Also note that I am within 500 feet of the sign.

    B. ) Illinois law that says you cannot be cited by electronic means within 500 feet of the posted speed limit with 2 exceptions; 1. School Zone, 2. Construction Zone.

    post-3322-1222084724_thumb.jpg

This picture shows his position when he Lasered me. You will note that the Construction Speed Zone is properly marked in the other direction. You will also note that his view is limited coming toward him so that he could not have Lasered me more than 500 feet back from the 45 mph sign. You can see the back of that sign in this picture as well.

Bottom line is that I will accept a ticket for 53 / 45. But, therein lies another issue. Since I was within 500 feet of the Speed Limit Sign, He cannot use Laser. There is the Conundrum.

I agree you have to think like a Laywer. I think the ticket is technically incorrect so I must attack it is the same manner. It looks like your basic speed trap to me.

btw: there is a box on the ticket for p/u truck and since I have a "B" plate, it is specifically a pickup truck.

  7. So, I get picked off by a City Cop with Laser. 53/35..Construction Zone.

The Ticket is full of mistakes....wrote 97 Silverado...Passenger Car!!!

At least he got the color right.

This is a Major Ticket. I'm inclined to Fight it or at least talk to the DA

    about a deal.

I mean I was with traffic, the construction is on the other side of 2 concrete

barriers, and besides that if he cannot properly identify my '03SSS how can

I be sure he cited the correct vehicle or that he did not misread the Laser?

  8. With all the "Green" and Alternate Fuel talk, It seems that CNG would be one of the quickest to get to Market since the infrastructure is already there and there are millions of cars, trucks and busses running on it worldwide.

The question is, What would it take to build a 500+hp motor running on CNG? I hear it is high octane so it would allow more boost / high compression ratios?

But like E85, the actual miles per gallon / or whatever unit of measure... would be less than gasoline?

I like the idea and propane too. Wondering what a HP addict could do with it? :dunno:
