  1. Going to be a longer post, but I want to give as much info as possible. I appreciate any knowledge or suggestions. I killed a piston and my LQ9 block came back from the machine shop after 6 months(!). I didn’t build the engine and the previous owner didn’t get a line hone after installing ARP mains and prettt much every bearing was trashed when I took it apart. The machine shop measured clearances at .026 with +.01 narrow bearings. The crank is straight when measured to the best of my ability with a dial indicator. With the thrust bearings out, and everything torqued, the crank is tight when trying to spin and no thrust. I threw an LSA crank in there and it had .010 thrust with the bearings in (not sure if they are the same dimensions though). I sanded them down when I thought they were the issue with my crank. This was the same crank that was in there previously. I have 2 thoughts, either the reluctor wheel is bent or the bearings aren’t narrow enough or the +1 are too tight and should be STD. I don’t hear any scraping near the wheel and it has the same thrust no matter the position of the crank. I have STD bearings coming today. I’m a VW guy and this is my first time building a Chevy motor. I am following a guide and know how to check thrust. I appreciate any help if you made it through all of this. Thanks!
  2. I have a bearing that’s going out on my built engine, and I have already ordered a new one and want to change a few things up. I am going with a higher pressure and volume oil pump and want to increase the amount of oil I have. Does anyone know of a company that makes an increased capacity pan? It looks really tight under there so not sure it’s possible. Thanks.
  3. I bought my truck knowing the the front diff ended to be serviced. I’ll be tackling the job this weekend. I have a complete rebuilt diff that needs fluid and it’s good to go. Is it pretty self explanatory? Doable on jackstands? I’m assuming the bolts are reusable. Is there a torque spec sheet available?
  4. Me: 2005 SS, Big turbo, forged everything, bottle neck is 1000CC injectors. (Willing to upgrade) You: Proven record of fast LQ9 work with HPTuners, available, open to revisions and a hoot to work with. I’m shooting for a 10 sec truck. Would like to develop a relationship and make a fun truck. 91, E85, E85 kill. Would prefer to have an upfront fee + monthly retainer for at least 2 months, even if it’s sorted in the 1st month. Must be willing to sit on the computer for logs after a pass. Must be fluent with meth inj and willing to have a 2 way convo with suggestions to make things faster. Shoot me a DM and let’s go fast. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cp11ngyA7fF/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  5. Well after having a bunch of parts stolen, it’s off to the junkyard. I’m sort of Chevy illiterate so I need to know if the following are compatible with models of the same year. I don’t mind if they aren’t SS specific looking, just want them to snap together. -Bezel -Headrests -Clamshell piece around the steering column -Doors -Tailgate Thanks!
  6. Thanks. I was trying to keep this thing incognito as possible. I actually picked up another one that sits in the center. Both on Etsy.
  7. It is. One of two reasons it’s still there. The other reason is they didn’t have a flatbed with them.
  8. Yeah, it’s really weird. I had a lot of parts sitting in the truck. I think they couldn’t steal it, so they grabbed what they could and bolted. There was an LS9 cam, an extra meth reservoir, wideband, meth controller and a few other things left untouched.
  9. Unfortunately not what I wanted my 2nd post to be, but my truck was broken into last night. I had a cam installed at a shop, and my turbo died while street tuning. I replaced it and noticed it had oil leaking from the front cover. Towed it back to the shop and got a call this morning from my tuner. I’ll just let the pics explain the rest. I had the Ravelco anti theft device so they weren’t able to steal it. I had a wideband and a couple other expensive items in the car, but they only took the stuff with the emblems. This happened in Las Vegas between the shop closing and opening on 3/10. How hard is it to get this stuff? I honestly just want to debadge the doors at this point and change the bumper, but I’d still like to have everything. The cylinder is toast and I can’t even get it to turn with a screwdriver. If anyone happens to see stuff for sale let me know. I have no desire to go after whoever did it because it’s pointless. A police report has been filed. Any help is appreciated.

    Part Number List

I am in need of a replacement seal for the drivers side rear window. The dealership said it only came as an entire glass replacement. They quoted $500 but wouldn’t give me a part number because they said people just go online and undercut them. 2005 if that matters. Thanks
  11. Hello, first post. I am planning on purchasing a turbo SS in January out of a state that doesn’t have emissions testing. It’s turbo stroker with 1000CC injectors. I’m in Vegas where we have emissions that checks for monitors only. It’s tuned with HPTuners. What I’d like to know is all the components of the system. I build VW race cars and we have SAI, PCV, 02 sensors, and EVAP. Ideally I want to put cats back on, and make sure the emissions equipment is back in place. My tuner said he would write a legitimate tune that would pass. Thanks in advance.
