  1. I guess you're not worried about breaking it in. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Breaking engines in is for people that don't set correct tolerances.... Top Fuel engines get a good break in, tear-down and assembled in 75 minutes and a couple of throttle whips, then right on the track...
  2. Check that rocker are to retainer clearance since you couldnt do it on the engine stand.. nothing like some stray aluminum in the pan...
  3. Yea, good stuff costs... my 427 i had (back in the day) had Manley severe duty Stainless exhausts and Ti- Intakes and buzzed 8-8200 and never had a valve failure.. with aluminum rods and .085 in/valve clearance.. (oh, and GOOD valve springs)
  4. usually this only happens under valve float or when a rocker arm fails. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OR, cheap valves, too much seat pressure...? now its time for lash caps!!! I dont know about these newer motors.. But the lash cap or bad a$$ manley valves fixed that problem on old SBC heads
