I just heard about this but am going to try and be there. I'll probable just meet up with everyone in Blue Springs since that is where I live. Can I PM someone my cell to meet up with everyone so I can park with you?

I just heard from the dealer that the bushing was in fact bad and that they are going to replace it. Thanks for the info smoke03!

Well, I went to pick up the truck and had a lengthy discussion with the service manager. He tried to blame it on several things, suspension sag, lowering etc. They stated that they polished the outside of the yoke the last time to make sure there was nothing on it but obviously this did not help. I mentioned the issue that started this thread and emailed him some of the comments/suggestions. End result, they are going to look at the transfer case tomorrow to see if they can determine the cause. I purchased the extended warranty so it should be covered but we will see. I called another dealer in town and they thought that the story sounded like BS so if this current dealer gives me any more hassle, I'm taking it out of there and letting the other dealer look at it.
Thanks for the information and I'll let you know what the outcome is.

my truck isnt lowered. That drop looks like a 3/4 but could be a lil more. I dont think that much of a drop would effect it that much but I could be wrong. When they pulled the yoke out of the transfer case. did it have a groove wore in it?
I did not see the yoke. We will see what the next dealership says.
-
It does sound like BS to me. Get a second opinion. No one else to my knowledge on this board has had to shorten their driveshaft due to lowering the truck. How big of a drop do you have?
I don't know for sure since I prurchased it already lowered. It is pretty low however.

check that bushing, er...you may want to have a shop check that bushing. Thats what was allowing mine to leak
Is your truck lowered?
-
Bringing an old post back to life here. I took my 03 in for the 90K service which included transfer case service. The truck has never had any issues with leaks at this point. After the service the transfer case started leaking. They replaced the seal and cleaned it up. I drove the truck a couple of times and the it continued to leak. They again replaced the seal. I drove it a couple of more times and now it is leaking again. I took it back in and now they are saying that because the truck is lowered, the driveshaft needs to be shortened since the yoke is cutting the seal? Sounds like total BS to me, especially after reading this post. They are refusing to replace it until I do something with the driveline. I'm taking it to another dealership to get another opinion.
Thoughts?

BUMP!! I'm looking at buying a set of chrome SS rims from an 06 with 2 decent tires and 2 rear tires that need to be replaced. So if anyone is interested in a set of chrome rims, I might be getting a set in a couple weeks. Havent figured out the price on them since I havent purchased them yet.
I'm looking for 1 wheel if you decide to split them up.
-
You can get them on ebay for 800 or less with brand new tires. Jus trying to give ya an idea of a decent price..
I looked there but the only ones that I could find are knock offs and not GM. Original GM wheels typically go fo rmore correct? Thanks for the replies.
-
G/L with getting that much for them.
What do you feel would be a fair price then?
-
Well then how much are you looking to get out of them? I was making an offer since you didn't post a price. We can't read your mind.
I would have to get around $1000-1100 to sell them. After doing some searching that appears to be the going rate for original wheels. If I can get enough to pay for new wheels than I would be happy. If I can't then I won't be selling.
-
I have $500 cash & i'll come pick them up.
Thanks for the offer but I think that I will hold on to them. I was hoping to get more than that for them. If not, I'll just keep them.

Any interest?

I noticed the small chip in the lip of one wheel and one place where it looks like a wheel weight was that damaged the clear coat. Other than that they are just about perfect.
A couple of weeks ago, I slid into a curb and broke one of the wheels. A couple of years ago I bought one original wheel from someone here to have as a full size spare. I put it on after hitting the curb and noticed a small wiggle in the steering wheel at about 45-55. I took it to the tire store and they say that it is bent and that is why I get the wiggle. It only occurs between 45-55 so I have not worried too much about it. It does have a brand new tire on it (less than 200 miles now). The original tire and wheel (broken lip) will go as well so you get 4 good wheels and 5 tires with one tire being brand new and one wheel that is probably beyond repair but I don't know. The 5 center caps are included as well.
Offers being entertained

I'm still undecided right now. I am open to offers on the wheels and tires. I'll take and post some pics first chance but the wheels are in very good shape. These are located in the Kansas City area.

I am kicking around the idea of replacing the wheels and tires on my 2003. Any interest in 2003 OEM wheels? These are the silver wheels. They are currently on the truck with GT2 tires. The tires have about 40% tread left.
-
I'm looking for one as well. Anyone want to break up a set?

I'm looking for a single silver (2003) wheel as well.
-
Anyone have just one that they need to get rid of? I just slid into a curb and broke one.

I'll try and make it. I had a good time last year even though I did not get to stick around long.
