Yes! Getting to the carfax soon. My next milestone in the investigation
-
I located the VIN by asking the bank.
Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can find it up for sale someday.

I tried the insurance company but they got rid of the info after 5 years. Good idea on the bank - maybe they keep the info longer. I did have a loan on this one.

I bought a 2004 black SS in late-2003 at Courtesy Chevy in San Diego. I traded it in sometime mid-to-late 2005 at a dealership in northern IL to get a GTO (should have kept the SS). The SS somehow was purchased or auctioned off and ended up back in California (Los Angeles). I found this out because the new owner came onto this forum (silveradoss.com) and was asking questions about the mods on it (that I had installed) and was showing pictures of it. We PM'd back and forth a few times and I wished him luck. His user name was Erwin8r, and he is not active anymore.
I found Erwin8r on another forum - a motorcycle forum - and sometime in around 2010 he posted that he sold the truck for a larger F-series truck...so the trail goes dead there (and I don't have the VIN...). I cannot find Erwin8r active on any forum and I have already PM'd him on here hoping he would get an email notification.
So, I had a 2004 SS that I dearly miss (I bought the truck right after a deployment to the middle east and ended up staging the proposal to my now wife of 12 years in it) and I want locate it and purchase it if ever available. I have no VIN (I purged all old record 3 years ago, foolishly thinking I wouldn't need any of my old car info) and really no other way of finding it other than searching the internet for that model that looks the same.
Here is a picture - you can see that it had some distinguishing marks (ram hood and stripes). I believe Erwin8r removed the bed cover and the nerf bars and put regular headlights/tail lamps on) (all good decisions!). I would not be surprised if the hockey stripes are not longer on the truck, given the time and other owner tastes.
Thanks for any help if anybody knows this SSS!

is this truck still for sale?

Newbies can't start topics before 10 replies? ...well that explains why I couldn't ask my shift kit question... LOL!!! I'm in the Los Angeles, CA area, and just picked up my used 2003 Silverado SS. It has been modified with a shift kit, K&N CAI, headers, full exhaust system (with butterfly-bolt by-pass block-offs that allow me to by-pass the cats), some sort of trans cooler, a twin-scoop hood and a toneau cover. I don't know exactly what was done to the truck because I bought it at auction, but it appears to have been well cared-for by it's previous owner. Here's a picture of my truck:
I was hoping somebody would recognize it and maybe have a bit of history. In any event, it has a fairly substantial 1-2 shift, so I plan to have the Toy Shop have a look at it. I've done a bit of research here, so I understand that we have to be a bit careful with the transmissions.
This is my first pick-up truck, and so far it has been a ton of fun!
thats my old SSS. i bought it at courtesy chevrolet in san diego when i was in the Marine Corps and drove it all the way back to illinois where i traded it in. interesting that it made it all the way back to the west coast! pm me if you have any questions about the mods.

NO. But I do remember sending a few pm's about an exhaust tip and then no response. So I was telling YOU that I know how it feels.
I do remember wanting to purchase a tip, but I don't recall the details. I am not one to lack on communication, and if I ever did not follow through with communication I deeply apologize. That's not like me.

For sale -
These GM Authorized Lloyd Custom Silverado SS mats. I had these in my 04 Black Silverado SS for about 1 year. They are in great shape. The white SS logo parts on the front mats are a bit dulled up, but nothing a good carpet shampooing wouldn't fix. the back on looks near perfect.
anyways, they are very nice mats, and i think i payed over $240 or so dollars shipped to me new a couple years back.
note - that is not a big patch of dust on the mats - that is the reflection of the cameras flash.
i am asking $140 shipped to your door.
-
yep. sold.
thanks!

Have 1500 miles on them. Wheels and tires pictured below are for sale. Together only.
Local pickup only, as I do not know where to get boxes big enough to ship these off - unless there is some other special way to ship wheels and tires.
Make an offer.

A long shot, but has anybody seen this 2004 Silverado SS (black)?

Yes, I got the carfax ran. It is still in the LA area. It was sold to a 3rd owner just in October of 2016....just missed that window of opportunity. It has 190k miles on it now and it was reported stolen by the 2nd owner (and recovered). Seems like it has had an interesting life.
