  1. I'll have to check it again. I changed it out about a year ago. i leaned on it while working on the engine and it slid off and got coolant everywhere and on my face haha
  2. Hey everyone, My mechanic friend said I probably have a failing head gasket on the passenger side (coolant leaking from the back). He told me that It'd be a good time to do heads and cam since he's going to replace the head gaskets. I was looking for a good daily driver set up. I tow almost every weekend (2 atvs on an aluminum trailer, sometimes a tandem trailer with 3-4 atvs). I didn't really plan on upgrading the torque converter yet, so i didn't want to go with to crazy of a cam. and the best octane we have up here is 90 octane. I was thinking of the XR265HR with the higher lift. Would the factory injectors still be ok with this cam? and what cylinder heads should i get with this cam? I'm definitely going to have him diagnose this coolant leak more before i start spending a lot of money. This mechanic will also tune the truck again once i get the heads and cam. My mods right now are intake, headers, catless and corsa exhaust along with his tune. thanks guys.

    Coolant leak

Hey everyone, I know there's a ton of posts on this topic (i've searched and read them all lol). But my truck is having a mystery coolant leak. I was thinking it was that coolant crossover tube or bad water pump gaskets. My mechanic friend that's been helping me take care of my truck since Ive had it thinks it might be a head gasket. I'm at 145,000miles now. I changed the oil and it wasn't milky at all and there's no sludge in the coolant resevoir. He pressure tested it and he said it would slowly leak out the front and back passenger side of the engine. He told me I should look into getting heads and a cam if he was going to replace those gaskets. Anyways, is there anything else i can have him check before i start spending more money? the water pump was replaced about 2 years ago and a lot of the coolant hoses as well.
  4. my truck is right around 146,500 miles. i can diagnose it, just don't have the time. I'll probably have my mechanic friend check it out for me. It seems like the code comes and goes. I started the truck up today and my ultragauge didn't show that the code was pending again.
  5. Hey everyone, I've been having this P0303 code on and off lately. I did plugs and wires before winter and the code would come and go. Last week I replaced the number 3 coil and it went away for a week and now it shows that P0303 is pending again. Is there anything else I should look into? I also have a bluetooth obd2 plug that I can use with the Torque app.
  6. Pretty easy actually haha. Got the two knobs at the front and unbolted the struts and up it went. Damn thing was heavy lol.
  7. Hey everyone, Anyone using a snuglid sl.? I just got a 4 wheeler and need to remove the lid to pick it up. Any tips on an easy removal? I plan on putting it back on in the winter. Thanks
  8. Hey everyone, My truck's lowered 2in (adjusted torsion bars and rear shackles). I'm going to install Belltech street performance shocks and was wondering if I'd be ok towing with this setup? Would it be ok to put the a four Wheeler in the bed still, til I get the trailer? I also plan on getting a bigger tranny cooler and upgraded front brakes.
  9. Looks great! Hope to see it up here. Ill throw a wave if I see you around!
  10. Hey everyone, I recently had Steve aka Silverado777 rebuild my gauge cluster for me. He did an awesome Job on the LEDs and its good to have a working speedo now. I highly recommend him. service was quick and he always kept in contact! I also got a few goodies for the truck. I got a Flex 3401 VRG buffer and its way better than my old porter cable. I plan on doing a full correction this summer and will share the results. I also did a projector retrofit into the stock housings and it looks great at night. the light is more focused. anyways here are a few pictures I wanted to share!
  11. does anyone here tune or know any places in town that can possibly tune? I helped my cousin install a magnacharger and we're having some problems and don't know if its tuning issues or not.
  12. im down to help. what kinda mods you planning. The guy with JVs old truck cut me off on purpose the other day. not a cool dude.
  13. hey matt, what kinda buffer do you use? I'm in the market for a new one.
  14. 55W are nice, but youre adding more glare to oncoming traffic. I have 6000K in my projector set up and i think theyre kinda dim. I've had a good experience from DDM, but they drop ship from China and shipping takes forever, lol. worth the wait though.
