Looking for NOS Leather for 96 Tahoe Driver, Cushion
peerson replied to peerson's topic in Off-Topic/General
Thanks, Bad Bowtie! I actually happened onto Friesen Chevy yesterday morning and they no longer have 2 of them. Because one of them is sitting in my garage! I guess the internet really is good for something. T -
Howdy Y'all, Wow, it's been a long time since I visited this site. Had a job change and my computer time has been extremely limited. Actually, eliminated. I still have my '04 SS, though. Just turned over 10,000 miles. Anyways, I need to replace the leather seat cover on my '96 Tahoe. Just the driver-side cushion cover (the part you sit on). GM has discontinued this part and it is not available from GM. After an exhausting, dial-up, internet search, I have been unable to locate a source for any NOS GM, OEM leather seat covers. I REALLY don't want to have an upholstery shop make one for me cause I know that it will never even come close to matching color and grain. If anyone has a source for this sort of thing, the GM part# is 12476171. Thanks! T

Hi everyone! Haven't been on here for a long time. My job "changed" and I don't have alot of cumputer access anymore. It's good to "see" alot of old and new SS owners! My '04: Bought it new in Oct, '04. It has 6,000 miles now. I don't drive it very much. T

I have two "Classics", right now. A 1968 Beetle and a 1972 Chevy Cheyenne P/U (and, of course, the SS-an instant classic). I have owned several classic cars over the years. My "Favorite" is a real changing thing. Used to be 55-57 Chevys. Right now, I would have to say (and I plan to buy one soon) my "Favorite" is the 1959 Impala Convertible. I need to complete the third restoration on my '72 Cheyenne before I start looking, though. And, by then, I might decide that I want something else entirely. You just never know! T

Went to Phoenix for a week to see my new Grandaughter, last week. While there, My Daughter's, Father-in-Law came over to see the new baby. He was driving a new Rousche, F-150, Stage III. Of course, I had to have a ride! I must say, it seemed mighty quick! Although, it sure doesn't hook-up like my SS (makes alot of smoke, though). I didn't get to drive it, but just from the "feel", I think my SS can take it (at-least in a short stoplight to stoplight run). I haven't a clue what the outcome might be in a quarter-mile run. Too bad I flew down there instead of driving. I will say (and this is just my personal opinion) that I thought the interior was a bit "Overdone". Although, I really liked the console shifter. I wish my SS had one. Well, with a new Grandaughter, I have a good excuse to pack up the old SS and run on down there and see how she fares against the Rousche. T
