Autozone is not really competition with NAPA, imho. O'reilly will give you trouble if/when they come into that market. Mainly because both stores sell parts in "white boxes". These are the cheapest pieces of crap you can find. Most people, and shops, buy them because they are cheap. This is the turn I've seen recently in this industry, and it scares me to think that some yahoo bought a set of $10 brake pads, slapped them of his hooptie, and is driving on the road with my wife and kids. Anyway, that's the only big downfall, is staying competitive with price/quality.

Luckily retail auto parts is not quite like Wal mart, Sears, ect., and I've done food service, too. At least in the auto industry if someone is being a complete pr1ck you can send them out the door. There's no way I could do REAL retail or restraunt work anymore. I'd end up whooping someone's ass.

Those old York and Tehcumseh (sp) were pretty indestuctable. Never seen one taken apart. Pretty cool.

Where did you buy your pads? [eek] They ripped your head clean off. Retail at the dealer is $71.06. They're not like the old screw in pistons like most rear disc set ups had 20+ years ago. Replacing the pads will be just like doing the front.

I wouldn't "unload" just express your dissatisfaction at his work, and see how he's going to take care of it.
