  1. Great. I will see if I can get the Amsoil at my local parts store. Bob
  2. JC03SS,, Is this the AMSOIL you would run: 75w90 Synthetic Gear Oil. If I went with your second choce of Mobil 1 should I be concerned if the bottle says Limited Slip on it like the image below? Thanks, Bob
  3. On a similar note, can you buy Mobil 1 75w90 with or with out LS? I have seen different bottles advertised. Just wondering if they changed the bottle design or if it two different types of oil. Bob
  4. I was looking at picking up some diff fluid and I noticed that on the bottle of Royal Purple 75W90 it says "with friction modifier additive". Link:http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/royal-purple-75w-90-synthetic-gear-oil-0280241p.html#.VMGkhDhMWbA I was wondering if this is ok to use or if there is another Royal Purple oil to use. Also looking for a store in my area that sells Mobil #1 75w90.
  5. Whats the spray called? I really like the look and might want to try it on my truck. Bob
  6. Adam's products and service is great. I just picked up a full PC kit. It will be my start to machine polishing. Bob
  7. If your brakes are stock you will not have a problem. I use 16" rims for my winter tires. -Bob
  8. The front license plate holder is held on with 4 aluminum rivets. The only way to take it off is to drill out the 4 rivets. Once off you will have 4 holes in your front bumper. -Bob
  9. Does any one have any pictures of it?
  10. Your pricing is very good. Last Oct. I drove into a post (long story) with my SS and the damaged looked the the exact same but my grill and bowtie were still ok. I spent about $5000 to fix it up and I did all the work myself except for bending and painting the fender. I did go with all GM original parts and I had to replace the core/radiator support. The cost to fix the fend along was $1300 (body work and paint). Anyways good luck with the repair. -Bob
  11. The hood looks great. I noticed you are missing the black tape that goes between the upper and lower portion of the front bumper. Did the body shop have trouble getting it from GM? -Bob
  12. The diagram you attached describes the proceedure well but I am trying to figure out how bracket #15 mounts to the bumper and I guess more importantly the nut number 16, I am not sure what bolt that nut goes on. The diagram I am referring to is in the link below: Link: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/49710-sss-front-bumper-install-s/ Thanks, Bob
  13. After hitting a post with my truck, I am trying to re-install a new SS front bumper but I cannot figure out where the two brackets that hold the lower part of the bumper mount to. On the exploded view given by GM the bracket is listed as Item #15. I just cannot find where the top part of the bracket mounts to. Any help would be great. -Bob
  14. I have called 2 junkyards in my area and they do not have any fenders in stock. They said they could order in an after-market fender for about half the cost of the GM fender. I just have been told the after-market stuff doesn't usually fit as well as the GM ones but on the other hand I am having some problems with the GM one too. I have a 2004 HD 3500 and it has the right fender measurement on it. I am wondering if I should just take it off my work truck and just deal with the fit issues on that fender. -Bob
  15. Sent a PM More pictures posted at: Pictures -Bob
  16. So about a month ago I drove into a post in a parking lot....don't ask how...I am still upset about it. Basically the entire front end needs to be fixed up. The rad is ok but I need to replace the rad support bumper, lights and right fender. I have been purchasing all GM parts from a local dealer but I have been having problems with the fit of the right front fender. I was hoping someone on the site could help me out. When i bolted the new fender onto the truck the fender sits out past the front bumper and looks really funny. If I look on the left side (fender I did not have to replace) the bumper sits out past the fender which is correct. I started to measure the new fender and noticed that the dimension from the inner fender to where it bolts onto the rad support to the outer edge measure about 4.5" on the new fender but on the original fender it measures ~ 4 to 4-1/8". Based on this dimension the new fender sticks out about 1/2" more then the original one did. I have tried to move the bumper over but if I shift the bumper over I only cause a problem on the other side. I have mentioned this to the dealership that I got the fender from and they agreed that the 2 fenders are different so they ordered a new one. The second new fender also measured 4.5". I wanted to make sure my original fender was no made wrong so I took the wheel well out of a 2004 Silverado 3500 HD and found the fender to be identical to my SS and measured ~4 to 4-1/8". At this point I am not sure what to do. I can either put on the new fender that I got from the dealer but have it stick out past the bumper or try to get a fender from the junkyard and see if I could find one that measures ~4 to 4-1/8" If anyone has some input that would be a great help. I took a picture of the fender and the measurement I am referring too. Would there be any way I installed the rad support wrong that pushing the fender out more. I just find it odd the the fenders measure different. The part number I was give was 88944419 Fender Measurment -Bob
  17. silverado_ss_04 that is a nice setup you have there. What type of lift is that? How much room do you have on either side of truck between the lift. Do you find it easy enough to get in and out. I am just been starting to look at lifts right now for the garage. I just finished painting my garage so right now it is pretty empty but I will slowly start to fill it up. My Garage -Bob
  18. That was a great little review. What towel would you recommend for drying the car after a wash and before I start polishing. Typically people always talk about chemi but I am not sure that is the best way to go. Bob
  19. Is your all purpose cleaner safe for rims? Or is it better to use the green wheel cleaner?

  21. Just as a side note, what size are your rims? Are they 8.5" wide or 9.5" wide. Bob
  22. How did you connect the yellow wire to the orange wire and similar for the black. Did you have to cut the wire and splice it or is there a place in the harness to attach the wire.
  23. They have some really nice cars on their website...http://www.d3cadillac.com/
  24. Have any of you seens this SS http://jdfabrication.com/photos/SS/HPIM0269.asp I think it looks all right but I don't understand why they had to start with an SS. I regualr Silverado HD would have been pretty much the same. Bob
