Go in and grab the HTML code for it and post it that way.

This is a great site that will pay for itself many times over!

  2. I did my stockers a while back.  It was deffinately different.  Here is the thread:

BTW, I used Krylon Fusion black paint for the centercaps.  ;)

Krambo, I like how you left the bowtie chrome. Thanks for the tip!

My ultimate intent is to paint the centercaps. I'm just trying not to rush the guy doing it. I want it to look good, but ultimately if I had to buy a new set of centercaps and start over, that wouldn't be the end of the world.

In hindsight you always think of things you would do differently. A little more planning should have gone into the centers but when I dropped them off, the apprentice for the shop took in my order and made it sound like no big deal to match them... We'll see. Now I need to put on the Baer kit, those red calipers would look sweet back there.

Also, thanks for the feedback on needing more black. The lame black trim around my brake ducts is starting to flake off, so I think I see some black ducts in my future and a black grille too.

As for the yellow goodyears... with all due respect Big O to you and your Camaro, I'm sure it looks hot, all I can think of is Dodge Dakota :puke:

  3. They look sweet, How would Those Blacked-out Stockers look with the chrome center cap? Since you say there not able to be powder coated? Post some pics with them on!

    Onyx

I thought about that but they already did one and they are still at the paint shop... so I'm kind of stuck. I don't know that the pics do it justice anyway. The paint is a matte/satin DARK grey with a tiny bit of metal flake. I may stop by the shop tomorrow and see what a chrome cap would look like.

  4. well the truck was at the body shop getting my front bumper re aligned. it wasnt straight so i had them move it out 1/2 and inch also to clear the tires.

and for the next answer, what would spindles do to make it not rub any more. i know spindels lower something but idk what, and it doesnt rub all the time only when im at full turn does it make a little rubbing noise up higher nothing bad. i just dont want to lower it and then have it rub all the time.

what kind of spindels do i need? what else goes alos with doing spindels?

There is a ton of great information in here about lowering a vehicle. Read up in the suspension section. I'm not sure what the hot set up is for a 2WD vehicle. When I did mine (AWD) McGaughys was the way to go. Spindles up front will drop your front end but keep all of your geometry very close to factory. You will have rubbing, there isn't much that you can do about that and really, it isn't a big deal.

  5. bondo ewwww!!!! how redneck!!!  :puke:

    :jester:

what was your truck doing at the body shop?

Be careful using the word redneck when you are from Montana and have mudflaps... :wtf:

Ahem... To address the question of the post though... I don't think going with a smaller diameter up front is going to solve your problem, you are talking less than an inch. Where are you rubbing? Down low or up high in the wheel well? Let's do it right, throw some spindles on there and cut the inner plastics where needed.

  6. 1. My steering wheel knock is now the worst that it has ever been.

Fix: Taking it in tomorrow (Thursday) to have the new stroke fix. Service advisor said he would do it under warranty.

    2. Serious front diff. whine that seems to worsen each day.

Fix: Gonna pump out the old and pump in some fresh synth. this weekend.

    And to top it off...

    3. Come out of work tonight to see a nice pool of the sweet tasting water under my truck.

Fix: Drive it into the local river if not covered under warranty.

I am so frustrated with this thing right now... 40,000 miles and all this to deal with. I fully expect to find shavings in the front end sufficient to skewer small pets and I already had a water pump failure at about 3k miles so I am hoping that will be covered under warranty.

  7. smash the piggy bank---making your SS faster can get expensive depending on what you do.  I would start with a CAI, Cat-Back, and a tune.  Good luck on your choices.  :chevy:

This has done well by me... I did an AEM Intake, Superchips programmer and swapped out my exhaust can. Runs 14.6 in 1/4 which is slowmotion compared to Chase or Chris but wins just about every stoplight to stoplight encounter you will have for less than $1000.00. Kind of the Dub-T approach to performance. :D

  8. I work at a dealer, here's what you need to do. First, make sure it is the dealer you bought it from, you have more pull there. Call them or go by, go straight to the Service Manager. Be nice, don't show your butt yet. You already have documentation of where you took it in with a concern before right? The dealers have authorization to "Goodwill" warranty past the 3/36. Most reputable dealers can go as much as 5/60 without even calling GM for approval. Don't let them know you know this. The only thing that might hurt you is the fact that it is lowered, which should not put any more stress on the front diff. maybe the axles, but that would be it. Was it lowered before when you took it in with the first noise? If not you have proof it was noisey before it got lowered. If all else fails, pitch a damn fit, call GM Customer Service and tell them you have owned numerous GM vehicles and will start buying Fords if they can't stand behind their products. The old saying is, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so show your a$$ if you have to, they will pay for it. Now they might agree to pay for half, or pay for parts and you pay labor, or some other combination like that. I think if you stand your ground they will cover it all. Hope this helps.

Great stuff man... I will know more on Thursday when I take it in. I appreciate the input!

  9. Hello All,

I've always had the front diff whine on full crank turns and the stealership could never hear it. Now I am at 40K miles and am getting a lot of whine at all speeds, turning or not. Any thoughts on if they will warranty this? :sigh: Maybe I could call the 800 number? My truck is lowered; not that the two are related but are they gonna scape goat on that and tell me to pound sand? Thanks.

  10. Hello All,

Aside from the nagging intermediate steering shaft (I'm waiting to give it the new proverbial stroking until I hear of a few more success stories) I really have a lot of noise when the front suspension articulates over any sort of bump. It is a really obnoxiously loud creak/pop. I really don't think it has anything to do with my drop either. I was reading about a crossmember problem for the VHO's; does it apply to the AWD folks also? Any thoughts? Thanks folks. Hope everyone is having a happy and safe holiday.
