  1. That looks freakin' hott. Althought you should have gone with a 305/45/22, the tire would have filled the wheel gap.

I might be looking into those wheels this summer.

I am curious about the quality of the chrome. Any comments?

I've had mine for about a year and half and my chrome stills shines like it's new, no chips, scratches or anything. For about 8 months I drove daily through a large stretch of heavy construction and I was worried about chemicals or just the nasty water run-off dulling my rims but they held up just fine. The only part I worry about is the center caps breaking, they seems pretty weak. But I give my chrome a thumbs up.

  2. Damn!! What part of town do you live in?

I actually live in a good part of town on Windsor, older neighborhood with older residents. The problem is I live on main street and there is alot of traffic and alot of high school kids that live in the area too. Just last week someone came through and took out about 5 BRICK mailboxes. I am moving soon though.

  3. I doubt you will pulled over for something like that, I did it in another truck I had and if you look at some of the high end vechicles they have bright license plate lights that look very similar to the look you would get with blue lights, I'm assuming the lights you are talking about look blue but are really an 'ultra white' type.

  4. Thanks guys, I figured I wouldn't have any problems but he had me second guessing myself. I keep all the lubricants changed and it stays in the garage, so it has a pretty good life. My beater got egged in the street last night, I must say it was nice not to really give a damn, had it been my truck I would have probably been on the news for going on a rampage.

  5. For those of you who don't drive your SS much(like 1-2 times week), have you had any problems due to the truck sitting for days at a time? I have a beater that I drive back and forth to work and only drive the SS casually when the weather is good. It was a daily driver until about 7 months ago, I have probably driven it only 500 miles since. My father told me I need to drive it more or it is going to "rott", so now it is in the back of my mind when I haven't driven for more than a couple days. Anyone have any problems with limited driving, or any suggestions to keep from having any problems?

  6. Got my Kit installed last night. They look really good and Im happy with them. I went with the 6k and I wish I would have done the 4300K, oh well. I think the plastic header panel has the two best spots for the ballast to sit in, I should get some pics. ANyway if your looking for a HID kit this one is top notch and not overpriced.

Looking forward to those pics, is the 6k too blue?

  7. Does anyone have a pic of truck with replica 22s?

Go to the Events/Gathering forum and find the Pic of DFW meet(probably still on 1st page), the black truck in the last group picture is mine and I have the replicas. PM me if you want me to email you a couple more. There is another guy on here that has them and his sig. picture is a good one too.

  8. The new ones have the 5.3, I guess that's a 327 or something like that. I thought it would be faster than our trucks due to weight but I guess that's another case of underestimating our rides. The new Impala SS's are REAL nice though, the 2009 version is supposed to be rwd and even better, based on the Camaro platform.

  9. My friend just got a 2003 G35 coupe and kept asking me to run em. I didn't think I had a chance since that thing probably almost weighs half of the SS. Anyways I was following him and he turned on to the service road and got on it, the road was empty so I figured what the hell and got on it to and to my surprise I started reeling him in despite his head start, I think I killed his excitement about his new "sports car". Guess those cars are a little overrated

  10. I have the 22' replicas, I didn't weigh them but they feel heavier than the stock rims on the truck, I don't really care about track times or anything so it's not something that kept me from getting them, if you go to the DFW truck meet pictures in the events/gathering forum and look at the last group picture you can see mine, it's the 3rd truck from right(1st black one).

  11. 02 and up crew cabs are SC, I don't think the excab's are SC, they are 01 and older. My dad has an 02 HD crew, nice truck but I'll take an SS anyday, even he asks about once a month to "trade trucks for a week".

  12. ...Besides, I need a good excuse to clean the truck up, and take it somewhere.  :D
I hear that; my truck hasn't been washed for 4 weeks now, and two of those was out in the weather in Lewisville. It's so dirty I'm thinking of taking a pic.

I have almost given up on washing mine, I have to drive on the North Dallas tollway everyday and when it rains(which is about every couple days lately) all the dirt from the construction washing into the road, in some spots you are literally driving through mud. My truck looks gray right now cause it's so dirty.
