  1. Your the first I've heard of having a vibration problem... I've had the belltech leafsprings on for several months now with no vibration problems at all???

    Hey YTTAF!

When you installed your leaf pack did you install any of the supplied shims to raise the rear so it is even? When I installed mine without the shims the rear was way to low, so I installed 2 shims to get that level look!

Do you have any pics of your rear leaf job? Any help to eliminate the vibration would be great!

Calling all AWD SS'S with the belltech rear leaf pack with no vibration! Please help!!!!!!

    Regards,

    SS ON 22S

  2. Negative, sir. The Belltech leafs are engineered to provide the correct pinion angle out of the box.

I can't ged rid of my bad vibration ever since I installed the 2 wheel drive belltech leaf springs. I called belltech & they have not done any enginnering with the AWD SS with rear leafs, & don't recommend it, only shackles. Save your self the headache & install the belltech 2" drop spindles up front & the 2" shackles in the rear. I'm removing my bellteck leaf kit & installing my stock springs with the belltech shackles = no vibration! :chevy:

  3. not for our trucks.. haha

    leafs are part number 5952

    spindles are 2508

    Hey SSer's!

I installed the belltech leaf springs in the back of my 2004 SS & I can not get rid of the vibration, so to say that it does not change your pinion/transmission angle is false because it does. I had the 2" shackles in before with no vibration, but I wanted the more level look. I tried 2,4,6 degree pinion shims & not much success, any suggestion? If I can't get rid of the vibration I'll have a set of belltech leaf springs for sale!

    Hey Rivierakid55!

Just wondering why U went from your shackles to a set of rear leafs in lowering the rear of your SS? Since U have experienced both which way of dropping the rear did you prefer & why?

  8. Hey Everyone!

I would just like to share some info on our first Radix experience! First of all I got in touch with Frank from Revolution & he hooked me up with the Radix kit/gauges, very impressed with product. Frank himself - great guy, great to deal with & will go out of his way for the customer - thanks Frank! My partner & I installed our first Radix kit on a 2005 5.3L Avalanche, with stock 3.4" pulley making around 7 pounds of boost! After kit was installed - next step test drive! Was very impressed with the performance gains, according to my new Digimoto software that calculates quarter mile times we dropped 2.2 seconds in the quarter!

That was all great until only 2 day's later Tranny issues! No second gear! :banghead: I dropped the truck off at our Chev dealership & unfortunatly the Customer's truck ran out of warranty, but the dealership checked it out & suspect second gear clutch pack is gone! I don't understand 2 day's with the stock tune from Superchip & we still fried the stock tranny! My next Radix kit is for my SS but this GM transmission issue scares me! I sure don't want to blow my tranny up in 2 short day's like the Avalanche! I sure wish Zippy lived alot closer to us to help us out in strenghtening these trannies!, Again Zippy I'm sure you'll all agreee very knowledgeable guy & always willing to help out! Thanks for the advice Zippy!

Next step I called our local tranny shop & they gave me a quote on a R & R & overhaul to back-up 450 hp @ the crank for about $1500-2000 CD. What do you all think?

P.S. - What I have learned you ask? Make sure to ask/talk to Frank/Zippy about your tranny upgrades before giving it BOOST!

  9. This afternoon I had the opportunity to make a few runs on a Mustang chassis dyno.

Some of you may remember at the Zippy event I was able to reach

    437 RWHP & 440 ft-lbs of torque.

Today, with the help of Zippy , his laptop and the addition of 60lb injectors

and a smaller pulley I was able to achieve

    495.3 RWHP & 476.7 ft-lbs of torque.

With the correction factor added in to compensate for the weather that equals

    500 RWHP & 478 ft-lbs!

Zippy feels there's still more to be gained but for now I'm thrilled

    with these numbers.

I know Frank - CHASSIS DYNO! These numbers will suffice until next

    Saturday's M11 event.

We'll see if I can actually put some of this power on the ground!

    Wow nice job!

    SS ON 22S

  10. Hey Everyone!

I finally got everybody together to take a family/truck picture, & I thought you would all enjoy! My Father brought the first SS home in 2003 & then the Sons followed!! What do you all think of 4 SS'S in one family?
