  1. I think mine pulls hard up top but a little sluggish at lower speeds (i only have a CAI). but that maybe because i had a Grand Prix CompG supercharged for the last 4 years that i had alot of mods done to it.

I feel mine pulls hard on the bottom end and dies at the top? Great for the street IMO. When Ive raced stock lightings they get me on the top end, not the bottom. Id say Im ahead or at least even until about 50mph with them.

  2. Congrats...marriage is all good so long as your both ready. IMO you two seem pretty young, so I'd say enjoy life and eachother, do and go as you both please, just have fun, and along the way get financially secure (home, etc, etc), finish school if you haven't, and wait at least 3-5yrs before having kids, just my .02  Good luck.

  3. I am heavly invested in the Market and since last November (07) I have lost more than I'd ever like to admit.

My finacial advisor told me last week if the Government doesn't do the bailout you should absolutely pull everything...unless you have things like an annunity with the correct protection suronding it. Now that was with my situation so it's hard to say what you or anyone else should do.

I try my hardest to not pay attention the the news or hype of daily BS, and tell myself i'm in this for the long haul , but with things like this it's almost impossible to ignore. Again, I'm not the profesional but I do trust my guy.

I hear ya brother! Im not one to move my money around much but I do watch the market pretty much daily. I too am in for the long haul but DAAAMMMMNNNN, it hard to watch what we put in not doing anything, shoot we're going backwards. I tell the wife we may as well just keep the cash and throw it out the window...its the same thing. I think Im gonna make a map and bury my cash in coffee cans

  4. Well, the bail out bill failed and the stock market dropped 780 points today? Whats going happen to the economy now? How is this going to effect us? Whats going to happen to the housing market now? Any body got any ideas?

Fortunatley me and the wife have made some good choices and have not been affected, as of yet. We've both got very good jobs (she's in the dental business and Im in the solar panel industry) but what worries me is the stock market. We both contribute quite a bit into the market but are loosing are butts. What should we do, pull out, stay in, what?

I do like the $300k plan mentioned above

  5. damn bro. that sux. hope it doesnt happen to day. we miss ya today at the meet

Maybe next time , but had to do the wifey thing. Its all good, my wife is actually pretty cool. I took her out to breakfast, movies, you know...

I'll be waiting for the little pukes next time, I left a note in the car saying "smile your on camera". Kinda gay I know, but the only thing I could think of

  6. I have a 96' Honda that I use for work. Anyway, on Sat morning I'm loading up my quad to go duning and I notice my drivers door is not shut all the way (I always lock it). I go and look and notice the glove box open, center console storage lid open and the ash tray was pulled out and left on the drivers seat. Nothing of value is ever in the car, I guess they figured that out too. Stereo was in tacked and did not damage anything, only ruffled through misc papers (insurance, regristration, etc).

That the first time this has happended to me  , hopefully the last. So much for living in a good neighborhood, I guess that makes us more of a target

  7. thats only partial true and the rest ids BS, at gas stations there is 87 and 91 octane only (CA), 89 is mixed beteween the two 87/91 to make the blend 89 octane at the pump, as far as standard 87 gas, its all the same, its the premium fuel that gets treatments added to them

I used to be in the fuel business for a couple of years...'12'SROCK' would be correct about the blending for mid grade fuel and premium grade getting the additives. Its all 87 octane, for premium they just an additive.

Oh and I use 92 octane (highest we have around here).

  8. We need to weigh our trucks Mike. Mine goes in the bodyshop tomorrow and hopefully I will have it back mids of next week. Ive been wanting to weigh it.

One other thing I can think of is I have 100% torque management removed and shifting at 6300.

Our next mod is similiar......if I cant put a cam by June, then Radix it is. :D

Let me know, Im off tomorrow. Im pretty sure I have all the TM removed also. I could have sworn thats what Allen told me. Now Im curious???

If you know anyone looking for some 22's with tires let me know. I could probably make someone a decent deal. I'll place an ad in the "for sale" section.

  9. HAHA Yea I hear that man. Cam is something I'm trying to do next year as well. Tha's awesome you are that deep into 14s without one. Im hoppeing just to break 14s with all the stuff I wanna do.

You'll get there  it takes time and of course MONEY! Your truck looks good, kinda reminds me of my 00' :chevy: that I traded in back in 05'.

  10. wow thats a quick hoe. i think you may just need to get all your mods tuned or just get all the kinkes out cause i know you can take me dont be down it will all pan out with some hard work

You'd be suprised...OUT2WIN has the same color SS as you, and is also 2WD. I beleive we have pretty close to the same engine (bolt on) mods, I do have additional tranny mods (TBTC/shift kit). Anyway that SS flat out runs...OUT2WIN ran consistant 13.8's and even managed a new best of 13.80

But ya I agree, some more $$$$ and hard work, I'll get there. Then I'll want 12's, this is so addictive yet fun :chevy: almost as as good as sex :jester:

  11. as Chase said, wheel weight is a killer. Plus the amount of gas in your tank is going to make a difference. I didn't go to the track last week just because I had a full tank of gas lol. Every tenth counts and with all that gas in my tank I wasn't going to get a new best. I say go for some forged 20's or 22's. 22's look the best but you can drop around 40 lbs in rim weight by going with a 20 inch forged setup. that's not even counting the amount of weight you'll dorp going with tires for a 20's rim compared to a 22. Tires are heavy on my 22's.

I think I may be selling my 22's, only problem is I just got some new Proxes (305/40/22). Literaly just bought them, they have less than 10 miles on them. So if I sell them Im probably going to loose my butt. I guess I could just the wheels? Anyway, I agree...I want some forged wheels cause Id rather be quick on the street than once in awhile at the track. How much would you estimate a 22" forged wheel and tire weigh? How about a 20" forged wheel and tire? I see the Centerlines weigh like 37lbs each (wheel only).

Looks like I have a wish list developing...I think I see a cam and some forged wheels in the future

  12. Good time! Deffinetly not bad for these big rolling bricks...

Sounds like all ya need next is servos and a nice street cam and you may very well get mid 13's, maybe even low 13's.

What rear end ratio do you have?

Ive got servos and yes I do want/need a cam. Im thinking a cam will be coming into play next year. My wife lets me do one spendy mod a year...sometimes I sneak in more  Ive got the stock 4.10's for gearing

  13. The pully swap on the hoe is giving it some power, More lbs = More power, try dropping those 22"s (I know is hard) and maybe looking into some servo's if you don't have them. What kind of CAI are you running? You should look into Outlaw, Volant, or King Cobra CAI, there badass, they can add up to 20 hp depending on the set.

I love the Gibbs Silverados, Tahoes, and Avalanches, I've ran Joe Gibbs trucks on both sides, Driving them and running against them, there a sick vehicle to tango with. good luck man.

That same SS went 14.73 in the quarter. After I dropped my 22's for 16's, I went 14.15. So, so I guess, but I always want more. That same Joe Gibb Hoe ran very consistant 13.8's in street trim, not bad for a big SUV...definatly a sleeper.

For now my CAI is K&N, and I have servos

  14. A GTG would be cool next year. The Red SS, I think, ran close to his dialed in time on his last run. I wanted to see what he had done to his truck. I would love to get a time on my truck, but not until I get the shift kit, accum pistons, vette servo, and have marty re-tune for that. I dont want to blow anything up yet :D . GF will prolly wait until next year to run it, unless I can convince her to let me do it. Talk to ya later  Jim

As far as he told me his truck was stock, he was looking to get base line numbers. I believe he said Marty was his son and that he was planning on having his SS tuned. Im sure we'll see him out again at the track. Maybe he's a member here and will chime in and say hello.

GTG will be a must for next year, maybe if we give enough notice we can have some of the west siders come down  that would be sweet IMO  .
