  1. One point though for those who want to stay GM, the 6.0L 6spd GTO won every shootout in just about every magazine against the SRT8 family...

I would have loved to stay with a GM ... but I dont think the GTO is in the same class as an SRT8 300C... its wayyy smaller and even though performance wise it may be comparable, I dont think it has that luxury look and feel as the 300C does. I personally think a CTS-V would be better suited as a comparison to the SRT8, but it comes in only a 6spd and my wife refuses to learn how to drive a manual.. and she would want to drive it sometimes.. lol. Although the CTS-V is still a lot less roomy than the 300C also, so that was a big deciding factor. The only comparison for me would be the new twin turbo 535i performance, handling, looks, and size-wise... but the 300C beat it in almost every one of those categories.

  2. I use to get sponsored... you just call a bunch of companies and bug the shit out of them, and say that you will enter your truck in so many shows and yada yada yada.. and they give you free stuff, or massive discounts. There is a guy running around southern OC in an orange Avalanche that has over $100K in free sponsored parts... bodywork/paint.. whipple... massive stereo... full fiberglass interior.. $8000 rims... etc etc etc

  3. One of my best buddys bought a brand new Chrysler 300 SRT8 and let me drive it. I was expecting a big car that could move decently, but I was astounded! The thing could haul for a new sedan, it braked, it cornered, it was bizarre!!!! LOL

The same guy took it to Mission Raceways, dead stock on stock tires it ran 12.93 @ 107.75 mph.

DiabloSport comes out with a tuner for the SRT8 cars July 31st, it's the first tuner available for the 6.1 SRT cars believe it or not. Should be interesting....

Man I know what you are saying. I was dead set on the new '08 BMW 535i and almost bought one... signed the papers and everything.. come to find out that they didnt have all the options installed on it that was on the sticker so had to wait the weekend to get it.

I ended up deciding to test drive the 300C SRT8 the next day, and I fell in love with it. That big ass car handles like a Corvettes big brother, the Brembo brakes stop on a dime, it has massive room inside for passengers, great features and is FASSST as hell. I had to have it... picked one up and told the BMW dealership they could keep the 535i. Wasnt my style anyways.

I am not going to mod the SRT8 in any way... it hauls ass for a stock car. Its like Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde.. cruises like a luxury ride.. but floor it and its like a damn Corvette!

..I do miss the Radix whine and the SS's launch from a dig though :driving:

  4. I just bought an '07 300C SRT8 and just took the Radix off of the SS (sold to another member here)

Let me just tell you that the SS could jump off the line quicker then the SRT8, but after about 60 the SRT would be GONE. The 300 SRT8 just pulls HARD from 60+ and doesnt stop... the top end is amazing. The low end torque is nothing to get crazy about (the Radix'd SS had way more low end) but the top end pull feels like a straight race car.

I have only raced one car so far in the SRT8.. my buddies 07 C6 with a GHL exchaust and I kept up with him from 40mph until 110MPH when we let off. I know I would have killed the Radix'd SS from a roll and anything other than a dead stop.

  5. Hahah.. we need to have a 'wash off' competion around here... It would be hard to top my truck after a new coating of DER!! :jester:

I thought Dylan would have wanted to buy it back after I smoked him in his new TBSS.... I ran into him one day after I put the blower on, and we went from a stop, and let off after I put on about 7-8 cars from the launch :devil:

He kept the truck in immaculate condition, as did I ... now its time to hand the torch off.... it was nice having it, I will miss the compliments from it.

A fellow member on here is possibly coming down and buying it buy this weekend so we will see what happens!

  6. Damn man im excited to see what this thing can do.... you might wanna start saving up for the 80E conversion because thats the only way this beast can stay in one piece after a few hard runs !

Sounds like you are just getting started in a way... a lot of tuning to do.. on and off the NOS...

Does anyone know what the limits are of the transfer case and the front/rear diffs? How much HP has anyone ever thrown at them? Is Chase the first guy to test the limits here??? I am pretty curious to see what the thresholds are of the stock drivetrain...

  7. damn thats ****in sick man! i cant wait to see it running. If you put a vid of it starting up that quickly, you BETTER have a vid up fast of it running around .. I want to hear what it sounds like from the outside WOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!:devil:

  8. To think, the oil companies probably still made a small profit from your purchase.. and even Bush got a small cut.

we had this happen in madison once. we took our fleet of service vans over there to take advantage of it. man why cant I get these kind of deals?

Dude you just said you got a deal like that once... lol :confused:

  9. Nice choice of color. Dang dude where did you get the cash if you're still in college? A vette is my next vehicle but it might be a few years. I probably could have bought an older used one with as much cash as I've put into the SS :banghead:

This is just an assumption, but if the guy is still in college I would assume that the house is his parents and he lives at home still (being most college students do) and the Z06 is probably still owned by one of the parents.

Lets assume a typical college kid living with his parents doesnt pay rent or utilities, just gas/car payment/whatever and makes about $1800/month from a typical restaurant job that college kids do. You can actually have 2 cars paying $600/piece and pay for gas while living at home (assuming he/she owns 2 cars) with no problems.

How do I know this? I see it all the time. Kids with 7 series BMWs, Escalades, C6's, etc driving around town but pull into their parents houses where they live for free and pay for their car payments (if they do at all) with their Albertsons paychecks while going to school.

Just an assumption, I dont know his situation and it isnt my business, but I think I might be close. Just going by what the typical college kid with nice car(s) I see in my neck of the woods.

  10. I am selling this truck that I purchased last year from a fellow SilveradoSS.com member, Dylan06ss. I would like to sell this as quickly as possible.. so call me up !

Here is the current stats and mods of the truck:

    2004 AWD Silverado SS

    Almost 50K miles

    Dual zone climate control

Pioneer AVIC-D2 Navigation system with XM Radio and Navtraffic capabilities, and IPOD aux connector, and steering wheel controls still working

Full tint all the way around

    6000K HID Conversion kit

22" Eagle 026 rims with Toyo Proxes tires (305/40/22) fronts have 80% tread, rears about 45%

Full billet grilles in the front bumper.. lower vents, lower valance, and front grille

    Billet bowtie on front

    Airaid cold air intake

    JBA Shorty headers

    160* T-stat

Custom Magnaflow 3" dual in/dual out exaust, dumped under bed of truck

Custom BSER rollpan filled with no gaps/lines showing.. no one has one like it!

    2-3" McGays lowering kit

    Belltech Nitro Active Shocks

    Custom PCM tune

Prestige alarm system with Autopage remote

Fully built tranny by the Toy Shop in Pomona. Completely overhauled using the best parts possible after blowing a few trannies. This one was built to handle over 600HP, and has performed perfectly for the past 11K miles or more. Has a nice shift kit and vette servos, and a Yank TT2600 stall converter

Meticulously maintainged and cleaned.. I use DER shiny stuff on it all the time. No scratches, dents, etc. Immaculate condition minus tiny chips in the hood (maybe 7-8 SMALLLL ones)

Always used Mobil 1 synthetic, and all regular service has been performed.

You will NOT find another SS this clean and in this nice of condition, period. The last owner took care of it, I sure as hell did also.

Asking price is $24,999 FIRM. No negotiating, nothing.

If you cant get a loan or do not have cash, I can have it financed at a car dealership for the price of $25,995 so anyone can buy this truck with no or little money down!

  11.

You are going to love it. Just try and stay away from the police while you get used to the extra power ;)

Haha... yeah refer to my post in the street racing section called 'I bet a WRX STI and almost got arrested' post... LOL. That was one of the last races I had.

My last one was a couple of weeks ago.. couldnt turn it down... Killed a Lamborghini Gallardo spyder from a light until about 80 MPH by about 1 car length :driving: Yes, it was in a safe cop-free zone though.. lol.

  12. Right on man... glad you are excited about the Radix. It really wakes up the SS because IMO they should have come with one from the factory. Not to mention it looks pretty shitty when a new stock Tundra can beat you :banghead:

I was going to throw a massive motor in this thing and go crazy with it, but after pricing it out and needing a 4L80E conversion just to keep it in one piece doesnt make sense to make a nice truck like an SS a weekend only drag racer. I would probably rather buy an old Camaro or Nova SS and put $$ into that instead.. not a truck like the SS.

Not to mention my IT business has been taking off, and it doesnt look too professional rolling up to businesses in a lowered truck.. Like SocalSS mentioned I need to go more of the professional route right now, so I decided to get the new '08 BMW 535i with the twin turbo set up. High 13's stock, and its classy.. plus a tune will get me in the 12's.

I will miss the truck, and I will be putting it up for sale in the next month or two.

    SocalSS-

You will want to get your tranny built and a new converter. Go to Toyshop in Pomona.. I went through a lot of trannies until they overhauled mine and 11K miles later, its as strong as ever. Also get a 2600 stall converter at the minimum.

Other things to get- New plugs, 160* stat from LPE, Airaid intake, true dual exhaust and headers.

  13. Damn, now I know why I pay a premium to live out here in Ladera Ranch in Orange County, CA... its a nice 69* out here right now .. :jester: The other day it was 84* and I thought that was hot.. actually had to run the damn AC. 6 miles up the street in laguna beach it was 74*. I could never live in that kind of heat.. F THAT!

  14. Muay thai / Jiu jitsu.... not that crap karate you throw some lame punches and gay kicks. When you train jiu jitsu, you are applying your training as hard as you can on your training partners every time.. train until you pretty much feel like you are going to throw up. Then mix it up with some muay thai, clinching, sprawling, and takedowns.

There is no substitute if you are looking for the best real world fighting style and conditioning.

    Just ask this kid....
