  1. i saw a 07 avalanch yestersay and it has the new tahoe front clip. i like
  2. you guys are crazy....130ish in a siverado. Thats a lot of air to move. I've done 156 in my 540i several times and just the small bumps in the road really magnify at that speed. But in a truck with 32 inch tires....has got to be hairy unless you are running a very tight suspension setup. What suspension setups are you 130ish guys running?
  3. wonderful...I am finally geting some info on the trans I am stuck with on my 06' silverado. 400 horse and 430 ft lbs are nice numbers. I wonder if those figures are good for both the TBSS, and the heavier silverado? I would assume many guys are running those numbers in their SSS's, with the 65E and shift kits, servo's ect., ....very reliably.
  4. Thanks P. I have a place in town with a dyno, but the guy that runs it hasent tuned any 06's yet and told me I would have to pay for the software. I might as well learn to do this myself and use his dyno for testing.
  5. Hi all...I am new to the tuning world and have some "how to" questions. I was and still might go with a mail order, but I am becoming interested in the EFIlive program. What do I need besides the program, harness, and laptop? Is it hard to tune for performance, and make changes for stuff like CAI and a cam? Is this something a novice, yet quick learner should avoid?
  6. I have heard they are junk. Just a weaker stall that the engine torque can overpower to a point. I would go with a yank, or something built for the LQ9 displacement, weight, and towing potential.
  7. your screwed...id give you about 7k more miles and you will be rebuilding. Next time throw a shiftkit in there and it will go right into reverse without that pause. J/K I doubt anything bad happened.
  8. A lot of these car sales guys dont know sh*t. I went to two dealers before I ordered my VMAX. The first guy didnt know anything about packages, HP, options available. It killed the deal with him.
  9. I spoke to a guy in Louisiana today about the trans. Says they have billet servo's that will work in it, but a shift kit isnt around and apparently isnt needed. Says the 70E basically has all the goodies from the factory. I am skeptical.
  10. dcairns.....is that a snug top camper you have?
  11. zippy, did you notice any diff in the TM of a VMAX and an SSS. Maybe to lessen the the awd load on the 4L65?
  12. more fluid capacity, higher temp operating range...as for the internals i dont know yet
  13. Thanks zippy....you are the only person who has spoken with authority to calm my concerns. Does the engine have less TM on it in Vortec Max guise than it does in SS form? Maybe because the stronger diff and rear axle? Are you coming out with a shift kit for it anyhow? Sorry about all the questions...this is real interesting though.
  14. The 06' VMAX and trailblazerSS come with the new 4L70E trans. I have a VMAX and really want to delete the TM on my PCM tune, but i am concerned about the increased stress on the trans. Yes, the trailblazer comes with 50 more horses and manages just fine, but my silverado has got to be heavier. Has anybody deleted 100% of their TM on a VMAX? Any trans issues? Am i worried about nothin? Should I wait for shift kit to do the PCM tune? Thank you'all
