I live about 20 miles from Sparks now, but I grew up about 5 miles from there. That rally is pretty cool if Johnny Law stays away. This year it was so bad there are about 20 lawsuits against the local police! On another note though, there is no cheaper place to live than OK. I bought my 3 bedroom 1 bath house for 26,000! I spent about 10K in remodels and it is now worth 85K! Cost of living is great here, but Edmond is without a doubt THE ritziest town in OK. I just worked on a house 2 days ago with over 100K in crown moulding!!! Hope you have some cash put back. If you are in the oilfield industry, I have lots of friends who work in it too, as a matter of fact, one of the most productive well services in OK is right here in town and 2 of my buddies are foremen. Starting pay is about 14 bucks an hour with no experience. I've been an Okie all my life and wouldn't have it any other way! P.S. Mr. P is right about the car alarm thing, OKC FUQIN SUCKS for thieves, especially if you live on the south side (Edmond is north though!)

As in my previous post, I just purchased the new body style V-MAX. I was wondering what kind, if any, differences there are in the engines from the 2006 SS I had, other than more hp and torque. This one obviously has the Active Fuel Management, does that affect any performance upgrades? I can tell a noticeable difference in the way it accelerates from my SS. Just looking for some advice, and no better place to start than here!

I saw that exact same e-mail going around about 6 or 7 years ago, same wording and everything. Some of it sounds like Carlin, but the "God on my money" comment is obviously not. George Carlin has taken a lifelong stand against religions of all sorts, and makes no bones about telling everyone. I do however agree with most those comments. I am pretty down the middle with Carlin, he has some very valid points and some just plain off the wall.

Sorry, but I would have probably got out with my pistol! I am from the old school too, if someone I don't know pulls up behind me and just waits for me to get out, I am very defensive. I have a family and a lot of nice things to protect. I guarantee most of my friends would have got out swingin! In this day and age, it's just the way you have to be. Call me narcissistic, but I'd rather offend some well intentioned truck enthusiast, than the alternative of having my head blown off by some punk trying to jack me up.

I can relate to the racism you have experienced, but in a different in a way. I, like yourself, don't look like a typical NDN. I am pretty much white, but I get shit from both sides, about the other side. But, I get most my bullshit from people because I am heavily tattooed and listen to heavy metal. I know it can't be compared to ethnic racism, but it is certainly the same feeling. I can't believe this day and age, with 1 in 3 people having a tattoo, that people look upon it so negatively. Even from people who have a couple. As far as white people being the most openly racist, I have to disagree. Do you hear them calling black people niggers out in public, calling Mexicans beaners and wetbacks right in front of people, or referring to Asians as slopes and gooks to their faces? No. But I sure see people being called honky and cracker and peckerwood right on TV and any rap album I've ever heard, now that is openly racist. Hell, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do it in almost every speech, in one way or the other. Culturally, our society has not progressed enough to overcome the social barriers that are raised by the influx of so many different people. This and other things are what the architects of our country did not, and could not, foresee, so we are left to make the best of what we have. I know there are still people out there who think like barbarians, but we have to let them have their say, that's OUR way, like it or not. I'm sorry as well, that I responded so harshly about this, but after you hear the same tired old rhetoric over and over, it gets on my head. All people really need to do is be informed. F*CK FOX news, CNN and most all other typical media outlets, they just regurgitate the same shit over and over. Use the internet and god fobid, read a book or two, and most people will be able to rise above the assholes that get them down, and return a good arguement to boot. There are good people out there, in all cultures.

What people don't seem to realize is that the very nature of this country is immigration from somewhere else, that means they came here with all their baggage and now that baggage is what we are left with. The American Indians didn't invent all this nonsense, it was brought here by other cultures! Also, by their own admission, yes, a vast majority of those protesters were illegal. They have nothing to fear, as they said, "they can't get us all". Was the military going to pull up with buses and tanks to herd everyone back across the border? Hardly. Refer here: And I guess the government and the military are all white? I see that the majority of leaders in this country have been white, but they were voted into office weren't they? I suppose it was only white people that voted? Can we help it if this country is majority white? I didn't get a choice of what country to live in when I was born, did you? Most of the people who immigrate to this country, legally or illegally, know what this country is, predominantly white; yet they are beating down the doors to get here. Any clue as to why? If things were so damn good at home, why did they leave in the first place? All we ask is that you play by the rules. Get a green card, pay your taxes and enjoy this place like so many millions before them have. First off, I'm not advocating anyones' beliefs, but what about the black panthers, the sons of islam, la migra, MAYA (muslim arab youth authority)and all the minority race haters? These groups are here on our soil preaching hate just the same (and worse), but do you ever hear about that on the news? What about all the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who were protesting in the streets, burning flags, talking about "taking their country back" from the white man, killing if necessary? I'm no racist, bigot, hate monger or whatever the lingo of the day is, but it just seems that the KKK or skinheads are all that plays out in the press, making it look as if white people are the only people who hate. This disgusts me the most because it is alright, cool even, to bag on "whitey" and no one says anything at all.

Building a house in the country, down about 5 miles of dirt roads for one. Also, my sons and I have been riding dirt bikes/ATV's and they now want to start racing, so I will need something designed to pull a trailer/toy box a little better. It hurts me, but sometimes sacrifice is the best alternative to ruining a nice truck!

Well the SS is gone. The guy came and picked her up this morning. I almost shed a tear as he drove away. It's OK though, I'm getting a new 4X4 pretty quick (hopefully a VMAX, if I can find a decent one).
