the o rings on the oil pumps are different. I think it was quik who found out they are not interchangeable and can keep you from getting pressure. maybe you have the wrong one...
stock oil pump. we did the engine swap over a year ago. Only now I had this happen. I did hold the nos for a good 1/4 mile threw the gears may be longer. street racein!
-
had some issues today. raced a guy today on with the nos and everything was fine. stopped at the gas station a few minutes later, turned off the truck. restarted it after fueling and the truck picked up no oil pressure. tried 3 times and by the 3rd she was tappin bad. 0 oil pressure. towed up to my builders shop, he turned it over and it kicked up to 40psi. just like nothing had happened. I was reading that it does have a bypass when the oil pressure hits a certin amount. I am guessing this happened and I got a air gap in the line. Truck runs like a champ now!?. any ideas guys?

sorry to hear bud. glad your okay. fix her up and you will be as good as new.
-
If he did that in front of our trucks he would not be walkin. I would have just beat him down for leaving a face print on my hood. ha
-
welcome guys. make sure you really want to do this. once you start with a SS you will never stop. good luck

me too! 2005 AWD done twice (jerking it fixed it best but) any help you need.

i would say a custom tune(zippy) and a TC(yank) you will be under 700.00 then add labor

AFAIK, 11.2 was the end of the road. However the 11.2 will be a thing of the past soon. Several guys have the powerplants to cut 10 second passes. How about you? Been to the track?
last time i went to the track LOOK WHAT HAPPEND I ended up with a stroked 414. I am getting ready to head back. I need to upgrade to the 440 anyhow. They are saying i should get into the high 11 on the 414 setup. first and last run with the stock 364 was a 13.2 half track and cracked #2 piston in half. $12,000 later here we go again.

An X pipe as close to the front as possible will tone down the rasp, which is what it sounds like you're describing.
yep thats the rasp. love how it sounds until the rasp hits. thanks for the help

just installed the new nelson performance tune. WOW!! main road was a little wet, pulled out and did a rolling AWD burn out.(out of control) very happy with the product. I did have issues getting service from them. when I was ordering it they were great. once I paid them I could not get in touch with them for two days. secretary said they are busy? nice guess i was not a customer? all in all it worked out. I am very happy with the product and would do it all again. P.S. - nelson performance seemed to be the only company to call me back on time, when origianly order the computer. sucks to be in hawaii and have to deal with out of state stuff would like to just go to a shop and get it then.

I see you are still going strong, I haven't seen you around in a while. I still haven't bit the N02 bullet yet but I want to. My goal was to see 13's first, then spray. I just did a cam and tune but I don't think I have enough converter for the cam. I am ordering a Yank Pro Truck 3200 this week. Til the end of this month, you get a 36,000 lb trans cooler free with purchase of the converter. Right now, I am about the same ET as before the cam and tune (go figure). It is slower out of the hole but picks up down the track. That is a stall issue I'm sure. It pulls hard 3500 rpm up. So out with the TB converter and in with the real thing. The TB does OK, but not good enough for my combo. I saw a guy Sunday running a RCSB Sierra 5.3 with shorties, CAI, tune and 100 shot Zex kit running 13.50's with street tires easing it off the line. You drop almost 2 seconds on the bottle right? If I can see about a 13.80 or so, then spray, I should be easy in the 12's.
I ran 150 wet shot. on the six bottle hit the rev limiter and cracked piston #2. get the saftey switches to help prevent this. good luck
-
just a warning a 10# or 2 5# will not last long. I would also invest in a auto bottle opener. when you need it its ready. I have a n/x wet shot. I have seen some guys mount the bottles under the truck I thought that was trick. good luck
-
had a stock 6.0 cracked piston #2. hit the rev limiter half track. did run a 13.20 QM. that was my 6th bottle and the first time i used my new purge kit. I was running a 150 wet shot. spent alot of money on my new stroked 414 and builder says it will hangle a 300 shot now. its ready to go but i have never used it since. it scared the crap out of me. its cheeper to buy a blower or turbo. the money you spend fixing stuff because of nos you will wish you never used it. I love the stuff but it scared the crap out of me. good luck
-
got my greese kit from gm and fixed it. then two months later came back. went in to the dealer and yep they told me they no longer sell the kit. holly mother of pearl i was pissed. they told me I should of kept the greese tube that came in the kit to redue it. put it this way I dont think they like me at the parts department now.
-
go a 414 stroked and it scared the crap out of me to. Builder said thats how she will be. we built it loose to handle nos. Just gonna get use to it. good luck
-
got a 414 stroker. we put in a Z06 hot cam. runs great
-
hey gang,
got a 05 SS. a few months ago changed out my original motor thanks to some laughing gas. put in a 414 stroked. Some days when the motor is warmed up or when i go on long trips and turn the truck off then go to start it again she will not turn over. seems that if i turn the key about 4-5 times she finally kicks in. anybody have any issues like this. also is it worth up grading the starter. whats in a Z06 vete? as far as starters.
New Gauges
in Forced Induction and Nitrous
Posted
aloha gang,
hooked my gauges up today. wide band airfuel, fuel pressure, nitrous. At WOT it is 12.3ish is this a good read out on the air fuel gauge. next question is the faster I go the lower the A/F gauge seems to go. hit about 110mph and it was reading 11.8. fuel pressure holds between 55-60psi.
Now during the nitrous shoot (150 wet) the gauge is maxed out on 10.0 and the fuel pressure holds about 55psi. does this seem okay or am I way off the chart. Still running stock injectors and not headers yet.(i know! i know!) thanks for any info guys
