    Okay, good to know. I was thinking of picking up a junkyard 4L60E and dropping I'n this and maybe a few other hardened parts and make something a little tougher than the stock 65.

    Even though it's oem, so it won't be any tougher than a stock 65E gear set, servos+shift kit and stall maybe clutch packs (I've never done them) will help. Then keep my stocker for a spare. :cheers: that way I'll have a little peace of mind when doing performance mods. I know i should just spring for a built trans, but where's the fun I'n that? I like to see how things work, and build them up myself.

    Did you end up doing this? I'm thinking the same thing but with the tranny thats screwed up right now in my truck.

    I actually got one as a rental after an accident in the V-max last Jan. I really wish i could've picked my truck up before returning the ram... it ran good enough to make me wonder but I bet i'd still beat it. My dad's got a tundra double cab with the dual exhaust and i've ran him twice, we're tied.

    No way I'm getting hooked on the meds!!! I'm down to one norco (double vicodin) every four hours during the day, and thats just cause i'm starting to try and walk on it, and yes Mr. P with these DAMN crutches

     

    The only thing that looks to be permanent is some nerve damage to my big toe.... can't lift it up off the floor w/ my foot flat. kinda weird... it just doesn't work :dunno:

     

     

    The best news of all, I can drive the beast again(when sober and hurting)... I kinda consider the gas pedal as phys. therapy for my calf. just have to use my left for the brake! :driving:

    So I had my surgeory in aug. and that set me back a bit financially so I haven't had much time to check the site out, let alone spend extra money on my truck. That is until Jan 7, my right leg was smashed between an s-10 bumper and cinderblock wall... :cry:

     

    fractured my fibia, but also had compartment syndrome, basically your body builds pressure where the crush trauma occurred and starts cutting off circulation... They stuck a 4-5" needle in my calf like a human tire pressure gauge and figured out it was twice the limit! The fix is a surgeory called a fasciotomy(sp?)... basically two big ass cuts in my leg to relieve the pressure... Then hooked up to a vacuum to suck all the fluid out. Here's some pics...

    Since then the vacuum has come of and they're starting to heal... finally putting like 10-25 lbs of pressure on it

    Thank god for medicine like percocet and dilaudid(12 x's stronger than morphine!!!) :chillpill::sigh::sleep:

    its funny how many people think that if its legalized thousands of people are gonna line up to go try it all of a sudden, like the legality of it is what is holding them back.... yeah right!!!

     

    personally i would much rather see my kids smoking instead of binge drinking or smoking cigs, but will definitely express my want for them to wait... just like sex and any other activities that should be for adults.

     

    being asthmatic, i've even asked my doctor about it's affects compared to cigs, he said its far less harmful if used moderately, like 1 -2 times a day. I used to smoke, but not once since 2006, because I can tell a huge difference... cigs would kill my lungs and make me hack every morning.... pot has little to no effect on my lungs, as long as i don't over do it. It does have a serious effect on my ADD though...

    I do it purely for relaxation... I seem to be able to breathe easier, sleep much better, and the next day when I wake up it feels like I've just had a 6 hour massage...

    That feeling you feel the next day is the THC still circulating in your body, this is what helps calm you.... and my brain from thinking about seventeen different things at once

     

    I have said it earlier. I would rather catch my daughter with a dime bag than a 6 pack any day.

  15. Needing More "go" Out Of The Vmax

    My dad recently bought a double cab tundra w/ the i force and TRD dual exhaust only after riding in my truck, just to try and beat me... W/ just corsa sport, custom tune by zippy, intake and some nicer spark plugs I had the jump, he started pulling me in but once i started hitting around 3500 in first, started to lose him again, had his front bumper at my rear at 100. The second race he said he wanted to try something different (letting the tranny shift it instead of manually) THis race was much closer and I eventually braked and ducked behind him instead of cresting a hill doing 100.... country road or not!! So its a very close race, alot to do w/ the driver in my experience... needless to say, we'll be continuing this family fued at bandimere this summer

    finally got caught up enough @ work to start bs'n again... Logged on like a week ago w/ 39 pages of new posts and couldn't view any of them, damn server error, glad thats over with!!!

     

    changes to the site are looking good!

     

    surgery went well... all normal now :fingersx:

     

     

    whats new around here? besides a new featured truck.... Congrats usabodyguard!!

    I guess what I was trying to say is that they dont need a 'performance edition' to get good numbers and performance, thats their base trucks pretty much.. the SS is suppost to be the fast, sportier version and its not even faster than Toyotas pretty much standard motor.

     

     

    I see a lot more 4.7 (standard)pigs around than the 5.7, just like more 5.3 :chevy: than v-max's(especially SS's)... And that's how I view my v-max, just an option for a bigger engine/drivetrain made for towing purposes, exactly like the yota, an option to upgrade.... like you said after that post hopefully this puts chevy in the mindframe to get back on top!!
