  1. Thanks guys. I just didn't want to hurt anything in the motor, and the manual did say to use only 5W 30, but I didn't read the whole thing, so it may have said other oils for different temps. Don't really have time to put the Sea foam in the PCV. I have alot to do before I leave tomorrow. I'll just throw in the tank for now, and add some to the oil in the next change. Thanks for all your help. My truck is all topped off and everything looking good for the trip tomorrow. I even bought some locking lug nuts, cause I know people have been stealing the SS wheels, and didn't need the hasle of coming out of the hotel and not having any wheels. :wtf: See you guys and gals! I might be on the site today or tomorrow just to throw a hey!

  2. I know that Sea foam will work in the motor, but I have a question anyway. The other day, I changed my oil with Mobil 1 10W 30, and messed up. :nono: I was concerned, so I called the dealer, and he said that crap out of your motor! It's to thick and might not flow properly for my trip. I don't want to hurt the motor, so I changed it out the next day with Mobil 1 5W 30. The only reason I bought it, is because is was cheap at Costco for only $34 a case. Anyway, I couldn't get the new Mobil 1 filter off, and didn't want to buy another one. The S.O.B. was tight as hell! I only hand tighten it. I guess I don't know my own strength. So my question is, I put 6 Qts. in plus what ever the filter holds (a pint?). Will the sea foam disapate into the oil if I add it? Or should I NOT put it in? I just don't want to over fill it anymore than it already is, its already pass the line alittle, and not sure if it will be ok for the my trip to Wash. or not. Should I drain alittle oil out? Or will it be ok to add the Sea foam? If not, I'll just put it in my gas tank.

  3. Well, I know it was stupid of me to ask, and I didn't use the WD40. I called around today and found a K&N recharging kit from Pep Boys for $13 bucks, so I bought it today. It should be ok. It's just a different color right?

  4. Crap! I just thought of that. I'm going to Wash on Weds., but I forgot to order a re-charging kit. I think our local parts shop has a K&N kit, but not sure if it would work on a Volant? I know this sounds stupid, but would WD40 work? Or would it gum everything up.

  6. What I'll do, so that everyone knows and is interested, Before I leave Washington which will be around May 30th to come back to Vegas, I'll send out a post so that everyone can start their shipping. Now keep in mind, this is on my free time, so I will get them complete as soon as I can and in the order of which I've gotten responses and PM's. It shouldn't be more than 1 1/2 weeks to complete them I will make a list with schedules on it with everyones names, so you will know when to expect it back. I will also set up a paypal account or how ever you want to pay, and no payment will be do until I let you know its almost complete. Any questions please give me a PM.

  7. So is 125 since it's just the top part or is It the higher price? Very interested in

getting mine and my dads done for fathers day.

I should be able to do that. Right now, I've got about 20, but I'll slip you in. Give me a PM of what colors that you want, and the type of flame and I'll add you to the list. The top would always be the same price "for the flames", but if I had to do more detailed work, then it would depend on what it would be.

  8. Thanks guys. Man, I just hate the rain, makes my back hurt with the two surgerys that I've had. Oh well, its work. I'll be leaving Vegas 4-3-09 (thurs) and get to Wash. on that Friday night or Sat. morning. I'll be staying until May 30th, then back to the heat of Las Vegas, oh joy! It starts to get into the 100's in May.

  9. Hey awesome work...I airbrush too and that true fire is a lot of work! Not trying to knock any of your work but I think a lot of people think that blue BMW is your work. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that was done by Lavallee? Again, nice work and good luck to you, just trying to clear that up.

Yes, painting fire is not easy at all. It takes alot of pratice and training. That is Mike's, its just a pic that I put up to show to all of you. It's for a guys truck that I have to do when I get back. He wants me to paint the same thing for him, but in violet and silver. I wouldn't steal someone elses trademark, and wouldn't want anyone to do that to me either. I'm to honest of a person to something like that, and I hopfully everyone is reading it correctly. I can paint like that though, and will show it when I get done with it.

  10. $225.00 for all 3 covers is a great price. Your work looks fantastic. I checked last spring with a local shop that does airbrushing and they said around $300.00 for all 3. Just let me know where and when to send them, I'm in.

That price is about right, for a shop. Sometimes even higher. Because they have an overhead, and rent to pay. I did a car long ago for $3000 to do ghost flames, now its anywhere from about $6000-$8000 for a complete job. Me, I just love doing it. Here's some more pics of flames to chose from. I can do all the flames, but sometimes people have their different tastes.

  11. hmmmmm queston i painted my eng covers with some spray cans would u be able to airbrush my covers even though i have spray canned them??? cuz i didnt do a real good job lol

Not sure. You and DiggerDan did the same thing. They may have to be stripped first or the paint might lift when I clear it. The last thing I would want to do, is do all that work and try and clear it and have it lift. Lifting means, the paint will crickle when the clear coat hits it, and ruin all that pretty work. There is nothing you can do to save it when it lifts. See, paint in a can really blows, it doesn't have enough hardener in it, but its what alot of people use because they don't have the knowledge to paint or don't have the tools. I would be safe and strip it first. It's pretty easy. They make some water base stripper that works like a charm, and you can get a can cheap at Walmart. I'm not sure if it's safe for the plastic cover though. It might melt the plastic. Test an area first on the underside of it. If you get some Acetone with a rag and strip it, it might be the way to go, but it will be messy.

  12. Ok, just that you all know it isn't easy to do these and takes about 1 1/2 weeks to complete for each one or set. I will tell you the process, and why it costs this way, and or if you all still want them done. Depending on what you want painted, I still have to spend many hours on cleaning and prepping them, to get all the oils off. I spent a whole day just on mine. If you closely on them, they have a texture to them. The paint will NOT adhere to this for some reason. So, I had to sand most of that down to get a smooth finish. What a bitch! Then I have spray an epoxy primer on them, so the paint has something to grab onto, then the black base coat goes over top of that. I'll then color sand the black base to scuff it up. Spray what ever flames or picture you guys want (depending on what you want painted). True fire is a 4 to 5 layer process, thats a few days to do (waiting for paint to dry). Then I'll inter coat clear, wait, then color sand again. Spray the final coat, wait, than clear everything. Alot of labor goes into these, especially when doing a car or truck. So long story short, the whole set for flames would be ( not encluding shipping) $225: the top engine cover alone would be $125.00. So now you guys know the process. Please give me a PM of what you want painted, colors, and how many. Then I'll have a better idea.
