  1. Nash, I can paint yours a pearl blue, or one that would really look good is a silver metallic base with a candy blue over top. I would look better than the one thats violet. Remember, none of these are cleared yet. Once they are cleared, you talk about the colors popping! I'll show you mine and another one thats cleared when I get done. I use to do ghost flames on cars that people would kill to have. The ones that I really like are a metallic silver base with a candy blue or a silver base with a purple over it. On black trucks and cars, you wouldn't believe how well it glows!

"Getwithit", I use a Vega 2000, and a Passche 2000 for all my airbrushing. I'm thinking about getting a Richpen 213C for my next one, but they are around $250 just for the brush.

  2. Thanks guys and gals. I'll be sure to find a computer somewhere. Hopefully the friend I'm staying with has one, but not sure. Les, you have my number if you need anything or anymore help. Aways glad to help anyone. Dan, I've got your number too. Hopefully I can finish airbrushing my engine covers before I go, so I can show them off. i have alot to get ready before I go. Gotta change the oil, tranny fluids, check everything, all that good ole' stuff for a long trip.

  3. Yes, I can do them for any member, when I get back from Washington. Right now, I'm trying to finish mine befroe I go. Then when I get back, I have to do this picture for someone, then I can do anything you guys like. I can paint anything or any color. Just keep in mind that the House of colors paints are not cheap, plus the other materails, for prepping epoxy primers, and PPG clear. Or if you want Auto Air water base colors and then PPG clear, then that would be alot cheaper, but you still have to have everything extremely clean!! Or the paint will not stick. My engine covers and the other ones were a bitch to get clean because of the oils from the engine bay, but it can be done. Heres one I have to do when I get back. I think I'll fall in love with this girl while painting her!

  4. I've been airbrushing for some time now, and my neighbor wanted me to do some flames on his engine covers. I did a few for my friends and neighbor and they liked it so much, that it began to get bigger. Now I've got other people coming to me wanting theirs done. These are just some of the ones I did, and they are not cleared yet. They really glow when they are cleared! I don't have pics of all of them. I can do any color for any truck or any picture. If you want me to do yours, just let me know, but I'll have to do them when I get back from Washington. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to finish my own before I go.

Just a preview of mine, I still have to detail it out and use some candy colors on it, then clear it.

  5. Thanks everyone. I'll be here for a couple more weeks. But i'll miss being on the site for 6 weeks! I'll go into convulsions! I've have to find a computer somewhere. I just thought of something too, maybe my truck will be much faster being at sea level? What's the elevation there? We are at 2300ft here in Vegas.

  6. Well, I have to go to the state of Washington for some employment because theres nothing left in Vegas for me. I have a friend that lives in Washington and he offered some work for 6 weeks. I have to leave Vegas in 2 weeks to go there. I was wondering how many of you from the board live in Washington? I think the city is called Issaquah Washington? Anyway I was wondering since I'm going there, maybe I could hook with some of the board members that live there. I'll be staying with a friend thats lives close to that city. If everything works out well, and the work is steady, me and the wife just might move there. I guess it rains alot in Washington and I'm not to fond of rain, since my truck is a garage queen and never see's any rain, but I've got to do whats good for the family. I'm also not to happy that I have to drive my baby on a 15 hour drive, but its something I have to do. Vegas has really crashed big for construction this year, and don't know when it will pick back up. The work really sucks here and many people are leaving because of it. Don't know if I'll be on the board much after I leave, but I'll check in with you guys when ever I can.

  7. I got the "Steath" from the dealer when I first got my truck new. They claim its the best out there. Nobody can steal it. The truck will not start until my keys are near the truck. I'd have to dig out my contract to see how much it costs.

  8. upgraded pads?

Yes, upgraded pads. The tech that I talked to said that GM had installed some standard pads on our trucks, and they should have put some deceit pads on an SS. So they installed some upgraded ones, so they say. Not sure what kind they are, or if they really are upgraded. I'm just glad they fixed the problem for me.

  9. I took my truck in for warrantee for the first time in 3 years. Come to find out, I forgot that I paid for an extended warrantee up to 2012. So thats cool. Anyway, I was alittle hesitant to take in for my brakes, cause its over 12K. The service tech told me that he would have to ask the manager about it. The truck has been squeaking pretty bad for a few months, but I kept on thinking that it was out of warrantee. I just turned 18,000 miles on it (garage queen) and didn't know if they would do it. So I chanced it and took it in anyway. This maorning when I pulled into their garage, everyone turned and looked. I had my Flowmaster on with the cutout partly opened, and the cam was just chopping away sounding all good and stuff. It set off two cars alarms when I pulled in and parked, cause it echoed thru the whole garage. That was funny. They didn't call me or anything until it was done. I kept on waitng for a call from the guy saying, we can't do it because of the milage, but they did. So it was really cool that I got the brakes replaced with the "upgraded" pads and the rotors refaced. Needless to say that I'm a happy camper. Hats off to Henderson Chevrolet :D

  10. I was driving my truck today and the tranny was slipping for a few seconds when I was a stop and tried to turn. The engine light was flashing on and off, but only for a few times. then it was ok. What's going on? Lately it will slip, but then be ok. Please don't tell me that its starting to go out on me. I can't afford it right now. I checked the fuilds, and everything seems to be ok, no burnt smell or anything.

  11. Your welcome. They might be, plus the flange may bang on a few things while trying to install. It's already tight enough. The pass. side will give you a little trouble getting it in there. So to be honest, I would wait until you go to the shop. Plus you want to make sure that eveything will have the clearance and the bolts will be accessible. The bends that they will have to do may cause them grief if they flanges are not welded in the right angle for them. Sorry, I know your trying to save some $$$, but it might cost you more if the have to cut them off and re-weld. This way, they can start from scratch.
