  1. I'm looking to buy an AWD Silverado SS very soon, but live in upstate, NY and have to contend with snow.

How do the AWD SSs do in the snow?

Thanks and I look forward to many more posts here!

I run stock rims with Michelin LTX M+S and the AWD SS is unbelievable in the snow. I live in Canada and we get a little bit of snow and ice in the winter and the SS performs and still feels very stable even under hard acceleration. I wouldn't drive anything else.....SSS4LIFE

  2. decided it was time to race my bestfriend anthony who recently betrayed all of us by trading in his 2006 vmax for a 2005 subaru sti.. so i thought i would induct him in the "Silverado SS Hall of Kills" even though i got my vmax.. raced from a dead stop at a stop light.. turned green and he launched it while i peeled out just for a sec.. next thing you know a 5000 lb. brick flys past his ass.. ah the humanity.. told him afterwards that the sti is a piece of SH**. Should of stuck to the Chevy baby.. STI Killer!!! :driving:

Okay, I know I don't post very often, but I also call BS on this one. First of all I have a 2003 Arrival Blue SS with CAI and Exhaust and I love it, its my baby. SS trucks are still the best looking truck out there and Chevy is crazy for discontinuing them. I also own a 2005 STI and its bone stock. STI will kill my SS hands down, off the line, rolling, reverse, sideways and all ways. You can not kill a STI with what you have done to your truck, and I will garrantee that....Period. He missed second gear, ok, but if you raced me with my STI, I wouldn't miss second gear, because I would launch it in second gear and all you would see is tail lights and they would be getting smaller and smaller like your ego as you realized you got smoked by a "piece of SH**" as you would say..... Thanks again for the story, I really needed a laugh today...

  3. 275/55R20 Michelin LTX M/S

I run these tires, and I find them to work well all year round up here in Canada. Right now its -20C and its been snowing for 5-6 days straight and these tires hook up awesome in the snow and pretty good on ice. The AWD sure helps out the tires also......... I had a 2003-2004 cummins Dodge pull up beside me and he had a 4" lift and maybe some 33"mudders and he wanted to give it a whirl. I smoked him, all he did was sit there and spin, once again you mess with the ss, you lose like the rest......

  4. PCM4Less guy ( Brian ) has the same truck as you do.  He has some dyno sheets on their website also.  Best way to get all you questions answered is to just call him.  He is real decent to speak with and will make sure you get what you want.

I had his tune on my 2004 Arrival Blue and loved it.

Nice, I will contact Brian, thanks for the quick response, that's why this site is sweet. What would be next on my list for mods after the tune?

  5. What kind of gains are we really looking at? I have an 03 blue SS(I hear blue is the fastest already) with a K & N CAI, and a flow pro muffler. If I do order a tune from PCM for less what else besides the tune will I need to do to my truck? I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada and it gets cold up hear in the winter and I hear a lot of guys referencing a new T-stat. Would I need one? Also Bryans order sheet on line asks for alot of questions that I don't understand. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh ya reason why I am looking into a tune, my buddy has a 04 Altima 3.5 and he has been bragging that he smoked me on the highway......Anyways thanks in advance. Oh by the way this site is awesome and our trucks kick some serious A to the SS.
