  1. Porno Joe's hit the nail on the head. Of course Lemieux doesn't want to move the team, but he also doesn't want his hockey team playing in a shit arena. I'm a Maple Leafs fan, and I can imagine how I'd feel if they wanted to move my team somewhere else. Sorry to hear about the move but maybe some people will listen to him now and he'll give the team the home they deserve Cheers!
  2. Hold on... When you get a ticket, don't they have to show you the gun showing the reading of how fast you were going? I thought they had to walk up with the gun and show you what it says before you get a ticket? Also, would the wind really affect a radar reading? Good luck with the ticket, On the plus side, it can't be that big of a ticket since you were only over by 10 right? I know in Canada they can't give you a ticket for going any less then 15km over (that's probably around 9.5mph) so if you were only doing 16km over, wont it just be a slap on the wrist kinda thing (as in no points and arond a hundred dollar fine)? Maybe tickets are different in the US, just kinda curious.
  3. So I was looking through the autotrader and I found a 1979 GMC Dually in rough shape but it has a 454 in it so I am thinking I might buy it and rebuild it in my kitchen over the rest of winter. My question is what to do with the truck afterwards. I am hopefully going to drop this engine in something and I'll have this truck left so I'm wondering if there's a difference between a dually frame and a regular cab frame? The truck is 1200 bucks (Canadian) so if I yank the engine and sell the truck even for like 600 bucks it'd be a good deal. I can reuse the crank, pistons, and all that stuff just swap a cam, heads, intake, just some stuff to give her a little more punch you know? So is that a good deal (assuming I can sell the truck) and whats the deal with that frame? Thanks guys, I bet you're just happy I wasn't going to make the first SS dually eh?
  4. Whoa, wait. You can make an SS into a stick? HOW!!?? I didn't think it could be done but that's the only thing I would change about my 03SS
  5. Don't worry boys, I wouldn't take it too hard. I went to the autoshow last year when it came to Toronto and noticed that the Honda Civic had won "sports car of the year" and the Honda Ridgeline won "truck of the year". It was actually kinda funny because the Ridgeline had a Honda Quad in the back and the tailgate had to be down just so it would fit in the box... not really much of a truck if that's the case. A lot of car magazines or magazines that compare models of cars are often very bias (like that autoshow I went to). So if it says the Toyota is faster, I wouldn't be surprised if the article is sponsored by Toyota too... At least by trying to compare their Yoda's to our engines shows that we are the benchmark they're reaching for... Cheers!
  6. She's not a bullet or anything, currently she can do 12.8's but I'm going to use some spray and hopefully get her to 11.6. I say 11.6 because I run Street ET and I don't want to put a cage in her. Nice eyes seeing the slicks! Take it easy, Cheers!
  7. Yeah, I have more photos on photobucket, here's the link More SS and Chevelle pics
  8. I just uploaded these tonight. So what do you guys think of the setup? All I need now is a Good Hood and to make sure my truck is washed next time I go racing. I was surprised how low my truck sat with the load; now I know what my truck would look like lowered! Take it easy guys, Cheers!
  9. Hey, one quick point. Just to clear up some misconception, I"m 99% sure that in Canada the 2005 SS's were still AWD but only an option in Canada. I'm not sure why they did this, but just thought I'd let you know. Cheers!
  10. Alrite, so I'm thinking my tranny is on the way out. I have a CAI on my truck and a superchips tune. The reason I got the superchips is because I can just pull it off at any time and as far as I know GM is none the wiser. Is that true or does it put a code in your computer? Also, would a CAI void your warranty? Would exhaust void warranty too? What can you do that won't void your protection? Let me know guys, Cheers!
  11. I love the personal plates and we need them on front and back in Canada. I have JRS 1967 for my 1967 Chevelle, I had JRS JEEP on my 2004 Rubicon and I now have JRS SS on my 2003 black SS Someday I'm getting JRS DMC (I love stainless steel...), JRS LS6, JRS 454SS (I love those trucks), and maybe JRS VETTE
  12. Alright, I just read a guys post on him wondering if he would trade his SS on an SRT10 Ram. I was reading the replies and I came to people talking about sales and the discontinued SS and SRT10. Is this confirmed or speculated? I heard (can't remember where) that the new SS was going to have like 440hp and eat ours alive (most of us except maybe Chase lol) Is this true? Are they discontinued? I'm scared to see the replies... I'll keep my fingers crossed... JR
  13. Alright, aluminum it is. Now I have to ask, how much are these going for?
  14. So I just had my car dyno'd the other day. It a 67 Chevelle with a 383 Stroker and it came in at just under 300hp and just over 400 ft lbs of torque at the wheels. So I got to thinking, I know the engine is making a lot more power and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about carbon fibre drive shafts? I dragged mine out of a junkyard and just had it cut. If I put a carbon fibre drive shaft will it give me more hp and torque at the wheels? Will it make the car more responsive or am I just wasting money?
  15. Hey, So I was sitting here thinking to myself about what I would like to build this summer when I finish my 1967 Chevelle. I was thinking of buying something with a turbo but I wasn't sure so it lead me to thinking about doing up my 2003 Silverado SS. My question is this... I'm a drag racer, would a supercharger or a turbo from STS be better for 1/4's? My little brother has an 03 SS with a supercharger, but he is having huge problems with the belt slipping. That's the first vote against the charger. Anyways, if I do a turbo, I can put a boost controller on it to tune it down right? I am not sure if I can just throw a turbo on a stock motor, so what do I need to do? Any information from anyone would be great, just tell me what you know or what you've learned, thanks! JR
