  1. I really miss my SSS so I'm taking a shot here. I've been test driving vehicles for a couple months but the only thing I could consider selling it for is another SSS.

Looking for an AWD, not specific on color but would prefer red or black. Miles must be under 75k. Would consider 2wd, but not my first choice.

I can get pics of anything specific you want. The truck does have a few small dings but nothing that sticks out like a sore thumb. Also I take excellent care of my vehicles both mechanically and cosmetically.

**Emergency lights not included but I can leave the Hella 500's if you want them**

  2. Nice truck...it looks very well taken care of to be a '99.

    Also, where are u located?

    I live in Wichita KS.

Hopefully it wont be a daily driver for much longer. It only has 63k on the clock. Going to look at a K-5 blazer today. This thing will not make it around in he ice/snow so I need something.

  3. The wheels are going to get changed as soon as I can afford them. The lights are from an 02 Harley, replaced the stock red tails with clear ones from an 04. 3rd brake light swapped to a LEDs. Grill is a billit piece and the only white that came on the Lightnings was Oxford white, the pearl is custom.

Im going to try to get a vid of the truck really soon.

  4. At the risk of being shot I sold my SSS to a friend and bought a Lightning. The SSS is now owned by someone with a bigger bank roll so it should be incredibly nice soon. I still get to work on it as he just purchased a Procharger that i will be installing in the next few weeks. My Lightning is a 99 with custom pearl paint, several little exterior touches and a 3-5 drop. Motor wise it is just tuned with a muffler and a cold air. Best I have got at the track so far is a 13.5@101 which is two full seconds faster than the SS :banghead:

Oh yea the 22"wheels that were on the truck are for sale. CHEAP $1000. In case someone has a ford truck or an expedition etc....

  5. It's never ending, just ask 04Chase! Once you hit the 14's, you'll want 13's and once you hit 13's, you'll want 12's etc., etc., Good luck! A tune and some other bolt-ons will give you a good start in the right direction.

I always end up taking my daily driver to far. But its SO much fun lol. Hopefully once the money catches up with the mod bug I'll be able to make it out to the bigger events to see some other fast SSS's.

  6. If I were to do a N/A project  I would do the L92 head & cam swap + ported L76 intake + 4-bolt throttle body + injectors + headers = 480+ rwhp!

    Mr. P. :)

Thats the exact combo I was dreaming about on the long trip home from the track. Of course I'd probly add a 125 shot for a 12 sec truck. I wish I had a cheaper hobby lol

  7. The tune is def next on the list. I can't figure out which way I want to go with the truck as far as N/A or a blower. I'd love to be able to click off some 13's and look stock under the hood. Kinda funny how I swore I was going to leave the truck stock

  8. Went to the track on Sunday. Not sure what the level is but it was about 85 degrees and no wind. Made three runs and they all looked like this to the thousandth. Just for info I took over drive off and stalled to 1500.

    60 ft-------2.27

    1/8th et---10.02

    1/8mph---71.20

    1000 et---13.04

    1000 mph-80.20

    1/4 et-----15.640

    1/4 mph--86.99

I'm a little dissapointed in I wasn't lower into the 15's. I'm completely stock except for a flowmaster cat back and I was at full weight(hitch, spare etc) with a 3/4 tank of gas.

I'm VERY consistant but do these times seem kinda slow to anyone else? I know it felt like I was trying to push a brick through sand after the 1/8th mile.

  9. First thing I would do when the body shop brought back a car that had overspray was to wet sand the area, but VERY carefully because there is uneven parts on the paint. If that doesn't work I mixed a cap full of thinner with 12 ounces of water and sprayed the surface and wet sanded with that. But I wouldn't use that second step unless you are REALLY REALLY good with massaging paint. Hope that helps.
