  1. Kidney stones are the worst. Anybody here every had them? this is my third time in 9 months having them. Kidney stones = Fail!!!!

      Sorry to hear that brother. I`m a Navy Corpsman and have delt with plenty of patients with stones. I worked with a Urologist who use to tell patients to drink Diet Mt.Dew because it has a type of acid that eats away the stones over time. Not a quick fix, but would help some. Hope that helps man.       Thanks. Maybe I'll have to look into it. been tryin to pass one for the last few days. seems like the pain comes on strong about 2am when I'm tryin to sleep. if its wasnt for the meds I'd be in all sorts of pain.

  2. I always just use a C-clamp to slightly put pressure on the ball joint. so it will stop spinning. if you dont have pressure on it. it will just keep spinning. Or I've used a jack as wel. just something to get the ball joint to press in and hold it enough to tighten in.
  3. yeah it takes the fun out of the sport with all that crap. thats why part of me likes my carbed sbc s10. not much to turning just adjust the dizzy and carb and your good to go. Lol
  4. Oh ok. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the issues. I'd hate to see somebody buy a truck and not know they had those issues. My buddy owns a diesel shop so I wouldn't be paying near that cost for injector repair. I just wanted to give a real world price if the average guy walking in off the street. I thought they have since came out with a new injector for a replacment that doesnt have the same issues. The nice thing about the older Dmax is they seem to get better milage than the newer one. which im sure its due to all the EPA bull crap. I'm tossing around the idea on getting a 11-12 dmax. but still in the air. depends on the fuel milage that I can get out of it.
  5. Might want to reseach what year you really want. they all came with different motor. during those years they have a few different motors in them and some are no good. I have been researching for myself. if i get an older dmax pre 09 then I personally will only get a 06-07 classic with the LBZ. the earlier models have head issues and the injector issues are common in the earlier duramax. injectors arent cheap they quote me $3500.00 installed here and some places charge 4k.
  6. yeah fender vents kill it. Its funny because it looks like Escalade fender vents but upside down.
  7. Same TC I have or at least same stall speed and for a 80e trans. best converter I have owned. I have best the crap out of my and it has zero issues. somebody will be happy with this.

      yeah it will suck. but I have already started putting the truck back together to be a roller. so it wont be bad. hoping the cab and bed will go on this upcoming weekend.

       

  10. Heck yeah sweet. I'm liking the new blue color on the silvy's. Normally when GM releases a new body style It has to grow o me for awhile until I begin to like it. But I really like the new body style.

  12. Wow that seems really odd. Normally there is one small bulb like that located behind the amber marker on the lower light. but other than that there shouldn't be anything unless somebody added something. this is located in you lower light where your driving light and turn signal is?
  13. Yeah that's a bit different. Never seen that on any truck. Can you trace the wires back to where it goes? If it has wires on the back side.

  16. I wouldnt pay that much for a truck with that miles and Hail damage. but for that many miles its in pretty good shape from the pictures.
  17. Yeah NGK TR6s is what I ran for my boost level's. guys who ran more boost go with a colder plug NGK BR7EFS. I always ran the tr6 and never had a issue.
  18. Wow yeah I have never not had a DD since owning the SS. Heck I just bought a beater to get away from my DD 05 crew cab 2500hd because of crappy fuel. My 1998 accord gets 24mpg in town and my HD only got 10mpg. So I feel your pain.
  19. No I never ran the iridium plug. I can't remember the plug number off hand. But I'll check the number when I get home. I do run NGK they are a tr something I can't quite remember. But I'll check.
  20. For boost they call for .028 - .032 factory is a lot wider like .045 - .055 or something like that I havent used stock gapping for along time but thats what I remember. I always ran mine at .032 with the boost level i was running 13lbs. anything higher than 15lbs I'd close the gap to .028 so the spark would get blowin out.

If you dont hear any knocking/ ticking noise then I'd look into plugs as well. do you have a code reader? watch your oil pressure just to make sure its not low. also does its backfire and spunter while idleing or only once the motor has a load on it? like once your trying to move it under its own power? I have dealt with my fair share of backfiring and missing. being my truck was turboed for many years. Most of the time it would idle pretty smooth and have no issues until I put a load on the motor. I'd normally just swap plugs and start there since plugs are cheap compared to most parts. how old are your current plugs did you gap them properly for boost when installed?
  22. so does it idle rough or did you never let it idle long enough to know. did you check the oil pressure once it started acting up? was it puffing any smoke out of the exhaust that you could see?
