    I still think using magazines stats are pointless.  As I recall no performance truck has won truck of the year, the SRT-10, the X-runner, Lightning etc. they were just reviewed.  If they do give truck of the year they don't single out a model from the series saying the Chevrolet 1500 5.3 vortec LT crew cab, 4x4 wtih these options are truck of the year.  They would just say chevy silverado is truck of the year, which applies to all silverados.  Why I am even arguing using stupid magazine ads, if you trust your magazines so much follow everything they say, hence trade your titan in and get a Honda fit or ridgeline, according to the editors they are unbelievable. 

     

     

     

    I have to disagree with you on the point you made about singleing out models. I believe last year the "Ram Powerwagon" won.

    Well I now I definately see why you need a jacked up truck, you need it in Hawaii, those off roads are pretty rough stuff.  I see some of the most badass jacked up trucks over there.  But I notice that there seems to be an abundance of jacked up tundras compared to other truck brands.  Which island do you live on, I go to hawaii almost every year.

     

    I Live on Maui. And yes it is a Toyota State! Nissan is slowly gaining market share but Toyota still rules as far as annual sales!

    well that makes sense for you rlift a little more then, like i said though i like going fast, even off road and when im not working on my truck im workign on a long travel 4x4 truck!!

     

    Oh I know you like to go fast! Your truck is the fastest none sponsored truck I'd ever seen! I would have rather see you run in person but ohh well vids is good enough! Much props for the work done to your truck! :thumbs:

    I personally don't care what people think of the SS, if you don't like it, then don't trade your titan in for one.  We obviously have different uses for our truck considering you have a nice lift on yours.  I don't need to go where I need a 12 inch lift and boggers, most people don't, assuming you live in north America, I think that what you've got there is less useful than a regular titan.  It's visability and driveability is horrendous for everyday usage.  So the point about using the truck for what it is meant for, I think mine is actually used for what it is meant for, otherwise it would have come all jacked up.  By the way I have nothing against your truck, I think it is badass and you did some nice work to it.  I just can't drive something like that in the city.

     

    I agree with you and thanks for the props on my truck! The only reason why I stated the magazine ads was because someone posted me that the Titan was inferior and that Dodge, Ford and Chevy was around longer implying that the Titan was not stacked up to them...That response was a reaction to what was said to me...

     

    And like you...I have no use for a truck that has the potenial of going 11's or less. I live in Hawaii where theres many offroading. It is more practical for me to build a 4X4.

    well with that suspension set up , your only to get so far off road, thats just a lift kit, if you really want to go off road your going to need some travel and something that has some strength. that is all show , no go when it comes to going off road. you might get over a few bumps and through a few puddles but thats about it. im on you rnissan site as well . i know how it is i dont go on there bashing your trucks even if i hear soem smart comment about my SS . i could care less, im into going fast and apparently thats not something the titan can do yet. and like someone said a titan and a ss are stupid to compare to each other because they arent in the same class at all. so lets get over these stupid little internet fights , everyone is a tough guy on the net.

     

    Roger That! I seen your video on our site! Thats why I posted earlier about your truck! It's crazy fast and very cool flames. As far as going offroad...I think I know alittle more about that then you think! Trust me...You think my truck is show and no go...hahaha! come to my house and I'll take you place you never been before! I live in Hawaii! Everything is Offroad from Mud, Sandybeaches to Mountains and "Lava" Rocks. Not your normal smooth rocks you guys use to seeing on rubicon trails etc. These guys will rip tires apart if your not careful! My truck is eqiuped pretty nicely for offroad! Factory Locker, Full skid plates, Enough clearance and a Suspension that will tweak and give me enough articulation. I have no complaints!

    Dude....I say a lot of things like it is. I was polite to you earlier, but you were acting like a prick. Yelling at people constantly bringing everything down. About the awards, the SS cant win any. Its a trim model, in 2003 there was a ton of articles on the SS thats when it came out. A recent one came out again when they changed the truck to 2wd and they raced it against a grand cherokee SRT8. That shouldnt be the point though, I know my truck isnt a off road truck or a L. However I like the looks of it, I like having a big motor and AWD. I like for it to be high enough to go over floods here in Miami but for it still have a nice sporty stance. Whether you think its ugly or not I dont care, I thought about getting a Titan but I just got a really good deal with a SS. My problem is that you really are here with a bone to pick.

    Earlier I was polite with you when you went off on a rant, I just let that fact go on what your purpose here was and tried to make friends. So honestly just let the threads on the titans go and shut up and start contributing to the forum. If you are gonna end everything with a ! and a "screw you" thats not contributing if you have an argument please...dont repeat the same argument over and over again. Thats tedious. Again I am trying to give you some goodwill and maybe you can be something worth over here. If not, then by defintion you are a TROLL.

    I hope this got through to you.

    It's been a while since I've been in one of these flame war threads, reminds me of the good old VW and dakota days.  Firstly no one should rate how good a truck is based on magazine awards.  Car and Driver has ranked the ford focus in its top ten for a a few years up to 04, but if you check the consumer stats on it, it's a piece.  The Mercedes SLK has gotten prestigious honours also from Car and Driver and that car is problematic to a fiat level.  If you've actually noticed, magazine editors are idiots, they rated the subaru baja as a truck and gave it truck of the year, the ridge line was truck of the year anything that is new and different is going to get the cover, becuase people are interested to read about new vehicles.  Sales of magazines would drop if they always did reviews of the same car.  Example silverado redesigned in 99, won truck of the year, 04 the f150 was redesigned and it won truck of the year, titan introduced it becomes truck of the year, honda ridgeline debuted as truck of the year and so on. 

     

    Honestly the Titan is not a bad truck, its probably the best of the import trucks.  If you come on a Silverado site expect site loyalty.  You are obviously just trolling trying to instigate sh*t, hence your screen name.  Your just giving a negative image of the average titan owner as a guy with his panties in wad.  Suck it up, a SS beat a titan on a street condition, it's not like on any titan forum I haven't heard of you guys smoking lightnings/SS/SRT/etc.  You seem pretty uptight when someone bashes your precious titan, maybe its time for a screen name change from get a real truck to get some vagisil. :smash:

    These awards are all fluff. They give them to the flavor of the year. The ridgeline comes out and wins a bunch of awards. It's the new flavor. Titan was probably the flavor before that. Chevy, Ford and Dodge have been around forever. I'm sure they have their trophy case full of awards. Awards are prety much worthless. If they did mean anything then the Ridgeline would have never won. it's a POS and def not a truck. :nono:

     

     

    Yeah typical excuse because if those awards went towards the SS....to you it be the highlight of your life!!! What a bunch of HATERS!!!

    Here comes a new guy (Titan) and in 2004 when the truck was released it won more awards than the 3 lines combined (Fullsize truck lines).

    They only give those awards to new trucks or re-designed trucks.

     

    Yeah didn't the ridgeline win truck of the year when it came out lol. If that's what it takes to win an award I don't want one.

    I was going to mention that.

     

    Think about this man... Someones gonna win every year! They give the award EVERY YEAR! But what I was saying is who won that much awards in one year? Your Chevy's or "SS" didn't! Come on guys....Don't Hate! Not Ford, Not Dodge and Not GMC! NOBODY! Only the Titan!

    The titan is a good ride but when they say buy a real truck i think it's funny.  I mean GM and ford and Daimler Chrysler have been making full size pickups for just a tad bit longer than nissan.

     

     

    Yeah I think it's funny to! Considering that All these Domestic lines (One of em I work for), Made these fullsize trucks a long time ago yet....Here comes a new guy (Titan) and in 2004 when the truck was released it won more awards than the 3 lines combined (Fullsize truck lines). And there was more than 5 different 3rd party publications that gave the Titan the most prestige here's some of em....

    1) 4 Wheel Magazine (Four wheeler of the Year)

    2) Boat and Trailer Magazine

    3) Motortrend (Truck of the year)

    4) Edmunds

    5) Ward's Auto World and so on...

     

    Where was the Domestics? Dodge Recenlty won the Four wheeler of the Year (Ram Powerwagon). And Ford won the Motortrend when the released the new model F150's But I cannot recall one Fullsize truck winning so much awards in one year! ( I could be wrong)...And better yet it won all these awards the first year of production...in which supposed to be ruled by Domestics!

    Damn man you just come in here runnin your mouth. I guess you dont know that every truck is different and street and the track are not one and the same. There are many variables that could have come into play to give him non-optimal conditions. I myself ran against a SS who I had a tune over (a tune gives me 30 extra horses) and i was dead even only thing he had over me was a intake and exhaust. A lot of things couldve come into play, he was lighter and I had a lot of knock retard. If i race him again will I beat him? I dunno he may just be lucky and have a stock "freak" point of the matter is that if your not gonna behave and be civilized in a forum which has a lot more then SS's mind you, then get out before you cause a shit storm

    You won't find SS'ers talking shit on your site. I'm over there and I don't run my mouth even though I can. I'm a low 14 sec. truck with a piece to add to my puzzle to get into the 12's. Just have to install it. Point is I'm not over there talking shit. We have a few posting on the "T" site but we're not running our mouths. We're respectful of others. If you want to post on here be respectfull of others. Sobe post over here and he's civil about it. He can argu his point and that's fine.
