fast4popper Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Not to tear apart the SS, but there are some things that I would change 1) While I LOVE the brightness of the dash lights at night, when I dim them down and turn on the brights to watch for deer, I wish that BIG A$$ blue "high beam" light would dim down too. 2) That key hole on the right side of the dash for the passenger airbag. I understand why its there but could they have put it somewhere else? glove box, center console? I went and bought a plastic bezel like the one on the left of it and put the airbag to auto and shoved it back into the dash and put the new bezel in its place. 3) Am I the only one that has noticed that there are about 17 different shades of gray on our dashes? I know there are supposed to be 3 or 4 but when the sun hits just right, you can see all kinds of different colors. 4) how much would a rear wheel well kit have costed GM? I think that looks terrible, and what a great place for salt and snow to sit and make rust. I know that shopman is making a kit but for $40K Gm should have put one in. Again, this is just to be fun, I LOVE my truck. wouldn't trade it for anything else that is out there, these are just some things that I wonder about. does anyone else have any gripes?
dcairns Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 I think there is a known problem on some trucks with the "too bright" bright indicator. Take it to the dealer, and they should know the fix. My list of Nits to Pick : 1) Should have come with a supercharger from the factory !!! 2) Somehow the sunvisor never works well for me on the side. I think I sit too high, even with the seat as low as it goes. Same thing with the rear view mirror, it is right on the horizon, blocking my view. 3) Foot rest for the left foot. Comes in handy when cornering and stuff. I have been bracing my foot on the BCM cover, I hope it does not break someday 4) The heated seat buttons are easy to hit accidentally and it is hard to read the indicators in the day light. 5) I wish the seat memory applied to the passenger seat as well. Every time I go to the carwash, they move the seats forward all the way. Easy enough to correct the drivers side by pressing the memory button, but I have to get out and adjust the passenger side.
7a7SS Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Off the top of my head. Why are our headliners tan VII
edessa Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Here are mine: 1) Should have come frome factory with a 20" spare to match the rest of the wheels. 2) I would have liked to see the shifter in the center console area. 3) Bulit proof trany from factory.
6.0ss Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 ohh ohh got some stuff!! 1: Seatwarmer switches in wrong spot, easy to hit (all of a sudden your ass is on fire) 2: no auto up on the windows, only auto down 3: Factory supercharger would have been the best! 4: Stronger Tranny, or offered a manual option. 5: Make the interior nicer than a Loaded SLT silverado, maybe more like the GMC Denali 6: 20inch full size spair 7: Front and Rear Sway bars, (obvious reasons) 8: z06 brakes 9: OFFERED A SHORT CAB OPTION!!! LOL
smit Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Been said before, but that gawdawful LOUD chime... even set to low. way to effing LOUD!

LOL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good one on the seat warmers. I think I have gotten used to not hitting them so I forgot about it. I also agree with the seat memory on the passenger side. as for the one touch up option on the power windows, add a DEI 530T to them and you will have 1 touch. I did it and love it.
GEAR M UP Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 My list..... -Seat warmer stitch in wrong place -Blower option -Stronger Trans -Don’t do AWD.....Selectable 4WD -Fix that wavy cladding -Line-X bed -Remote start -I-Pod/MP3 connection
shootingshark Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Everthing above are great ideas. I wish that GM could be sure to sell another 10k units with those improvements, then we might have a chance And how about with all our modern technology we get a paint finish that doesn't chip off the front of our rides
d_a_n_payne Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 -Seat Cooler -Back seat to fold down too -Shifter in center console -Two-tone REAL leather -Better designed armrest -Bed cover

SSplaytoy Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Headliners get way too damn dirty too easy where the "oh shit" handles are..... And why the hell can't we have lighted mirrors, and get the plastic piece on top of the center console to stay there.
boeman Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Full overhead console... I miss my built in sunglasses holder! lighter rims from the factory The SS would have been the perfect vehicle to get a Head Up Display! Move the Termometer and compass somewhere besides my rearview mirror, This is my 4th vehicle with that, and I still don't like it!
thallent Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 True dual exhaust and functional hood with ram air system
