I pulled up to a jacked up F-350 single cab long bed diesel this morning. The Ford is raised like 10" with 35" tires and apparently all kinds of motor work. Well it was a little wet out and i hit it at the light and roasted him. I pull into to 7-11 and he pulls in after me and tells me he will race me anyday for $1000. He starts telling me that he has $30,000 into the motor with a complete Banks engine kit, nitrous and propane. Says it does the 1/4 in the 10's. Not sure if i believe everything he says, but who knows. My SS is stock except for the K&N :eek: . I don't think on a dry day my stockie would beat him, but with a supercharger i think i might have him. What do you guys think?

 

And if a supercharger will do it, then the $1000 i would win is a very nice donation from him. :D

it must of been pretty wet on the road for him to lose with all that work. if he really has a banks power pack, dont plan on beating him even with a s/c on dry ground though. hes gonna turn some serious torque into serious horsepower.

Unlikely, yes, but unheard of, no.

 

There are some stought D-Max, PS, Cummins out their. 10's is a stretch, but beating a stock SSS, isn't.

10s would be tough even if he did have a lot done to it. A 700hp supra will do the 1/4 in 8.7 @ 160.

 

You never know though. It's amazing what a tuned and moded diesel engine will do.

Had a young punk with a Ford 250 diesel with a chip and exhaust went around saying he wanted to race me for $500 bucks. and he had huge tires on there/ with four full doors. i sent word back , for him to bring his check book/ or cash i didnt care and wow, can you believe it he never showed. :dupe:

 

Not saying that they cant be fast, but just a chip and exhaust, BRING IT ON! ! ! ;)

Honestly sounds to me like a lot of talk. $30K in the engine? 10's in the quarter? I am not saying it's impossible, just unlikely. :wtf:

 

Guy must have a lot of time and money on his hands. Ask around at the local tracks if anybody has seen him run. Since he's willing to tell you what he supposedly has, ask to see his receipts or at least look under his hood first. If he can't produce get a Radix and a tranny kit and have at him for the $1K rebate. :thumbs:

Don't remember if it was on this forum or ls1tech.com, but there was a vid posted of a reg cab F-350 making a 10 sec. pass. It can be done, but the truck in the vid left a smoke trail like a choo-choo train! So "if he ain't smokin', he must be jokin'" :P

Good point, TimB. And a 10" lift front and rear? Can you imagine what kind of weight transfer you would get with that on a hard launch? Doesn't sound like a 10 second setup.

Ask him to race for the **** of it to see what happens. I hate it when people talk shit. Some punk told me he had twin turbos on his civic, And he would dust me. We raced, He lost, And talked shit. To make a long story short, He talked more shit and got bitch slapped. :D Havent seen him since. :driving::flag:
