04CHASE Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 well after trying to do all my trans crap at my girlfriends house.(didnt finish because i busted an o-ring on the servos.)i decide to spend the night and finish up in the morning.I go to sleep pretty late and am soon awakened by a nice 3.3 earthquake at 4:30 .Then not more than an hour later another earthquake a little smaller woke my ass up again (2,2 at around 5:30).Then again almost back asleep at 6:30 then boom a nice 4.4 hit and wakes up everyone. So no sleep for me soon to try and finish up the truck. Oh and i was at the epicenter in Fontana.
LSR Mike Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Just some tiny stuff, not even a whitecap in the coffee cup....Earthquakes are scary though, you never know how big they are untill they're over....Land surfing anyone? The Quake info
GEAR M UP Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I'll take some snow and cold weather over earthquakes and mud slides...... I hope everyone is OK out there......
dcairns Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Those are small quakes, probably not enough to knock anything over around the house. I felt the 4.4 out here in South Orange county, but being inside this wobbly office building makes it easier to feel them. Just be glad you didn't have the truck up on jack stands and working under the truck. One thing to keep in mind about those Ricther Scale numbers, is that they are not linear. 1=1 2=10 3=100 4=1,000 5=10,000 6=100,000 7=1,000,000 8=10,000,000 9=100,000,000 So the Magnatude 4 earthquake you felt this morning is only .001 % as powerful of the Magnatude 9 SE Asia.
04CHASE Posted January 6, 2005 Author Report Posted January 6, 2005 trust me plenty of picture's fell, it felt much bigger here because we were so close to the epicenter, i didnt realize until after wards that i was sitting underneat a couple Saw's mounted to the wall. .they were not big though i know i just think things are kind of peculiar lately ex: tsnami earthquakes last week and now these.
IntroWheels Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I didnt feel any of them thankfully.
r8rs4lf Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Me neither, when I'm asleep, I'm in a coma!!!!! Late- Alex
