A"SS" Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 This is my first snow with my SS and it flat out performs on the ice and snow. Ive own 4wd's before but this is nice!
dklapper Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 We had 18" of snow here and some ice also and the SS didn't seem to grip quite as good as the 99 Sierra Z71 I had. I think with narrower tires it would have been better.
m396 #00-011 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I was doing some AWD donuts on the ice last night. Wow, what a tight radius it will turn, almost makes you sick....
ShortBus Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I tore up the parking lot at coke the other day my wife wasn't to thrilled but hey, she wasn't driving.

billsws6 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 finally got some snow and ice in ny the ss is great in the snow got it on ice and had her going side ways playing around. by the way i have 17" snows on it. handles great.
ChevySSandChevy8.1 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I think it definately handels better than 4x4 trucks in the snow, but nothing beats a 4x2 for doing donuts.

Ive own 4wd's before but this is nice! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is fun in the snow! Last year I played all night when we had our first snow. We have yet to have a good snow this year, but when we do I will be the first out playing
BOB47 Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Donuts are definitely lots of fun!! Got my first "snow kill" the other night. Last week we had about 5 " of fresh snow on the ground. Guy in a GMC 4x4 pulled next to me at a light and revved his engine. I looked over at him and he was laughing so I revved mine back. When the light changed I waited to see if he was serious. He had all 4 spinning so I jumped on it and went flying by him. At the next light he caught up , rolled down his window and yelled " How the #;!@# did you do that?" I yelled back "All-wheel drive!." He said "awesome" and gave me a and turned off the main road. Not much of a race really, only got up to about 40mph, but it was fun.
zippy Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 ah, the fun of stoplight racing 4x4's in the snow....

zippy Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 i wonder how a properly shifting SS acts in the snow on the shift....hmmmm.....
Firestorm Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 i live in alberta (northern), nand i run my 2000 gmc alloy 16 with studded winter grips. they are 1 30.75" instead of the 31.9 inch stock eagle diameter tires. it is better than my old 2000 z71. i love it.
6.0ss Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 I hate snow, but if it has to be here we might as well play!!!!
