haul@ss Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I was browsing around cardomain when i stumbled upon an F-150 with a dual intake setup.. do you guys think this would be capable of a nice gain? or is it not worth it? just for looks? i dont know.. i think it looks pretty sick though here are some pix if u wanna check it out yourself.. heres the link Dual Intake Setup
XGMTech Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Only gonna get so much air through one throttle body. Two filters seems like overkill... those filters have the capability to flow something like 1000 cfm each anyway, so IMO it's just a gimmick. But it looks really cool though!
Smokey Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Maybe if there are also twin hood scoops located right over each one? That would make sense. I've seen a setup like that before. But if there are no scoops I see no point.
haul@ss Posted January 7, 2005 Author Report Posted January 7, 2005 but even with the two hood scoops, what would ONE throttle body do with all that air?! but yeah it does look tight
dros44 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I was thinking the same thing. Looks cool but the throttle body can only handle so much air. So performance wise i bet its a waste. But id love to find out.
Big O Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Old news this is an 84 camaro ... had them way before that I think
zippy Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 that's only going to work well once someone gets that dual mass air system working right.
AWDGM Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 The 84 Camaro had it right, COLD air intakes! The Ford is just sucking hot underhood air, no matter how many filters it uses! It does look trick though! Butch 02 Sierra Denali
04CHASE Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 welll guess what i ahd a dual intake on my tahoe it didnt look as cool and dint function as well as a k&n fipk but here is what it looks like .
ChevySSandChevy8.1 Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Those dual intake kits sure look good, but is seems like a waste of space under the hood.
d_a_n_payne Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 What kind of filter will fit coming straight out of the tb? I have efans, so I have a lot of space there. But I need a smaller cone than mine. I have seen other guys do it. I think someone on here with an 8.1 4 door had it like this. He had nitrous, thats all i remmember.
jay rock Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I was browsing around cardomain when i stumbled upon an F-150 with a dual intake setup.. do you guys think this would be capable of a nice gain? or is it not worth it? just for looks? i dont know.. i think it looks pretty sick though here are some pix if u wanna check it out yourself.. heres the link Dual Intake Setup <{POST_SNAPBACK}> looks good
Dylan06SS Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 that's only going to work well once someone gets that dual mass air system working right. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shouldn't it work if you get the MAF at a point past where the intake tubes combine? The MAF wouldn't be able to tell if there was 2 filters or not... just the increased amount of air.
