bigbl62 Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 I was wondering if it is worth me changing my flowmaster muffler for a cat back system? mods: radix pcm4less t stat shift kit ASM headers K&N filter
BenKey Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 I think as long as you have already changed out the stock muffler, then it's not a huge difference. Going from the stock muffler to a catback would be a pretty good gain. Personally, I think the stock pipes flow fairly well and the main hold back is the muffler. Maybe a higher flowing muffler, whatever that may be, would be a more cost effective add-on that a lot more expensive cat-back system. Sound-wise a catback may be a little better. Others may disagree. Catbacks in general usually only gain 15-20hp at the most, but you've already couped most of that by getting rid of the stock muffler.
