styleandspeed Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Just got done installing my new subs tonight. Me and a friend of mine build a box to house 2 12" Eclipse Aluminum DVC subs, and a recessed amp rack for my ARC Audio 1500 D amp. This thing rocks! I forgot to take pics of the subs out of the box before I put them in, but the speakers weigh what felt like about 35 lbs each. By the way I built the box out of 11 layer birch and I don't think that it weighed over 20 lbs before I added everything else. Not sure if I am going to leave the floor mats in it or not. Tell me what you think. Aaron
r8rs4lf Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 It looks nice and clean, but what about the heat from the amp and it being up against the bench? Late- Alex
xxjiggaxx Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Looks good. You want to build me one?
DirtySSouth Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Dude that looks killer.....Call me up I wanna check it out, now all you need is some Dynamat cuz i know that roof rumbles with those DVC 12's JK
6.0ss Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Nice work, How does it sound?? I am building one this week. Have it mostly done, waiting for glue to dry and my carpet to come in!!!!
SPEEDCRAVIN Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 That looks great, I am wanting to do the same thing with my truck. I only want one 10 inch sub on the passengers side and use the drivers sdie of the box for storage>> Good job man JOSH
DGIEPSS Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 looks great very similar to what i built i love it keep up the good work
ChevySSandChevy8.1 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 That looks like a nice clean setup. Nice work
styleandspeed Posted January 12, 2005 Author Report Posted January 12, 2005 DirtySSouth I will give ya a call to take a look. It sounds pretty good too. Where are you xxjiggaxx? Close to College Station? The guy who built helped me build it said that he would build another one and provide all supplies for $250. I am not sure if that would include wiring or not. If you are interested PM me and I could bet you his cell #. Thanks for the compliments guys. It was a lot of work. Aaron
jharnish Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Very nice job. I didn't have the skills or time to build one so i found one on EBay I think its made by MagnaForm.... .. it only holds 2 10's and not the deep sound i was looking for. Might have to look you 2 up when I get home for one like that. If you want to check out what the one I used looked like you can click on my SS site I have pictures loaded up on it. Cant post them here due to web blocking....
haynss Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 what is the mounting depth and cu ft? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> im curious to hear this as well. Thats impressive to get 2 12s back there with no modification to the back seat. I couldn't get a JL 10 w6v2 with proper air space without cutting my seats, so i settled for the w3v2. Still a nice clean setup!!
DirtySSouth Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 I have 3 JL 10w6's underneath my rear seat, firing forword with NO modifications to the seat.....2 12's is very possible, just have to have the right box.... jk
