Rays B4U Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Well, after much reading of all the posts on this and other forums, I finally decided on a muffler to purchase. I bought the FLO-PRO 2504 3" Dual In/2.5" Dual Out. According to the manufacturer it was designed for the 6.0 & 8.1 to eliminate the much complained about interior resonance. I got it put on yesterday and so far I like it, but I haven't had the opprutnity to drive the SS much since it was installed. I had it dualed off out the back, as one poster said "Bubba Style". I took it out on the highway and got it up to about 65-70 and did not hear in resonance/drone in the cab. At an idle it sounds a lot like the stock exhaust and when revved up it is noticably louder. Please excuse the VERY dirty SS, we've received about a foot of new snow in the past few days and the roads are a mess!
BOB47 Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 looks really good. How much was it? Sounds like what I've been looking for.
Nightshift Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Congrats! Maybe when the weather clears you could get some underneath pics? BTW: It may be dirty but there's still a reflection in the tailgate... WW
ChevySSandChevy8.1 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Looks good, sounds like it was exactly what you wanted, lower resonance.
BenKey Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Same muffler I have. I am really happy with it so far. Power increase was noticeable. Noise is about the same as stock, which to me is unusual for an aftermarket muffler.

The tips were $100, muffler was $225, and the rest was pipes, hangers and labor. Same muffler I have. I am really happy with it so far. Power increase was noticeable. Noise is about the same as stock, which to me is unusual for an aftermarket muffler. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> FLO-PRO's website claims a 25 hp gain over the stock muffler. Have you noticed any resonance out on the freeway at cruizing speeds?

They didn't turn out to good because I couldn't get far enough away from them.
cadowns Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Thanks Ray for the pictures. They look OK to me. I think they did a good job on the install. Did you purchase locally or on line? I having a little trouble finding a place to purchase one. CD

CD <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The shop that did the install sells the FLO-PRO and had several in stock, so I got it through him. The owner said that my SS was the only FUN job he did all day. The cheapest I found for the 2504 is fle-online.com
