2003SilvSS Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 I just purchased a 2003 Silv SS last week. It is used, but low miles, 24,000. I have a few concerns that I wonder if they are covered under warranty. 1. I hear a slight groaning type noise when I turn to the right at about 20 mph 2. The curb light in the mirror on the passenger side is loose. It looks like the clear lens holder has the clip broken and it's in there loose. 3. I have noticed that while I drive down the highway at 70 mph, the truck seems to pull to the right slightly. Is any of this covered under the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty? Brian

Brian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that should all be covered under the warranty. that all seems like fairly easy to repair and common problems. iam certain that a good portion of all silverados have noises when you turn. my brothers 03 silverado with almost the same mileage makes the same noises turning right and left. your local dealership should be able to take care of that. about the pulling of your truck at 70 mph. make sure its just not the wind. the wind can, if blowing heavily, can easily do this to your truck even weighing in at 5500 lbs. if its not the wind, and it always happens, its just your alignment or tires most likely. cheap and easy fix, even if the dealership for some reason wont have anything to do with it. the body damage to the mirror, is the only think, i think the dealership might not be so easy to fix. good luck. and have fun
jboyd2004 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 I have 20000 on mine. I have an appointment with the dealer on Friday to have the groaning noise checked. The service dept said they didn't know of any problems related to the whining noise in the steering. I also started noticing a clunk in the steering wheel (many posts on this). I don't know if you have this as well, but GM is starting to replace some shafts because of the clunk. Most highways are slanted in one direction to aid in water drain as well. This could be causing the slight drift to the right.
