MANDO517 Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 Is anyone here sponsored by "MOMY AND DADDY"???
Dylan06SS Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 LMAO There was a guy doing this about a year ago here locally... started seeing all these beat-to-sh*t imports w/ his logos all over them. He called it "SponsorLYNX.com" and claimed he had all these big name companies participating... then after a couple of months he was in the newspaper under the headline 'Car Scam Artist Arested' Basically this guy had been doing the same thing in other states... collecting about $100-$500 from each person and NEVER actually finding them a sponsor. When people started catching on he would just move to another city/state and start it up again. According to the last thing I heard he was serving 15-20 years and had been convicted for stealing nearly $2.5million over the course of a couple years. Heres the thing... nothing in life is free... bottom line. I have a sponsorship deal w/ Trojan Motorsports which basically gets me free or cost on anything they sell and they don't charge me for installing anything. In return I have their logo on my truck and I have to make appearances at shows to promote their shop. Unless youre dealing directly w/ your sponsor its probably not a real sponsorship.... As w/ anything in life... if it sounds too good to be true.... it probably is.
