I played the first one I think it was. It was cool. What was it called Sim City? that game got me addicted empire building, then throw in the Sci Fi element of Warcraft and I was hooked.

they're bringing in 10 million dollars a month in revenue off the game alone. It's gonna be sold out for weeks. I bought 6 copies and then sold 5 on ebay. Paid 49.99 a piece and averaged 85 a copy to recoop the cost of mine.

It maxed out their first 40 servers in less than 24 hours. Sold 480,000 copies on day one. Sold over a million in the first weekend. Now has 80 servers running...

Definitely record setting game in terms of sales.

It is a very VERY well designed MMO (and I am very picky about MMO design :). Mob AI is moderate to very good. Very well designed questing system -- you mostly don't even notice you are grinding mobs to get most quest items. Very nice environment. Oh, and crafting is actually fun, meaningful and affordable for low level characters. Not to mention that you can actually use the items you can afford to craft...

Big 'play it' recommendation from me and mine.

My Son's are both playing it like crazy. I thought the seamless transitions in the 3D graphics was impressive. I did need to upgrade one of the kids video card so it would play better. Based on what I have seen of them playing it I think it gets a thumbs up.

Yup i have to second what berserker wrote on pretty much all points. That is why starwars galexies lost over half of there customer player base, people were sick of endless grinding that swg had, and also eq1 had.Wow is by far the best online game i have used and the pvp aspect while not perfect is the best ive seen to date.

49.99 for the game and then the montly fee can be as low as 12.99 if you pay for 6 months at a crack. Careful though it will suck you in deep. In fact I'm playing right now on my other comp. My character is busy learning so new leatherworking skills.
