smokum73 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Is anyone out there running 23" or 24" rims on their SS? I recently upgraded my brakes and they made my wheels look small. I was wondering how the big wheels looked on the silverado SS before I went wasting my money on them. Thanks for any help.
r8rs4lf Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 There are a few members here that are running bigger than 22" rims. I think the difference between the 23" and the 24" is huge. BigTSBadSS is running 23's on his SSS and it looks very clean! A few other members are running 24's and they make the truck look like a 4X4 IMHO. At some point bigger isn't always better. Also with 23's or 24's, your probably going to have to deal with rubbing issues and a rubber band for a tire, not to mention how the price for tires jumps up big time from 22" on. I'm happy with my 22's! I'm pretty sure this guy is running 24's. Late- Alex
TA219 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Those look great !!! I just wonder about the bad side effects that those rims may have.... does the truck ride rough now ?
smokum73 Posted January 26, 2005 Author Report Posted January 26, 2005 thanks for the replies guys, i think anything from a 22 to 24 looks awesome now.
EliteAutoToyz Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Yes those are 24's and some will be fan's of the big rims some won't but if you go big u must go low Girl love when a guy goes low
Xero Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 will 23" bazo b4's with 305/40 or 45 rubber fit under my truck? cause its lowered 4/4 and im going to do a flip kit very soon to egt the back end down lower, and possible shackles to lower the front
SSplaytoy Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 will 23" bazo b4's with 305/40 or 45 rubber fit under my truck? cause its lowered 4/4 and im going to do a flip kit very soon to egt the back end down lower, and possible shackles to lower the front I have the 22' Bazo B4 with 305/40 and a 2/3 drop and I have a little rubbing. For your truck I would say get 20's but no bigger than 22 if you really want low. If you do a flip kit with those rims you would need like a 30 series tire, and you still might have a problem. Why don't you just bag your truck instead?
Xero Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 too much money....want a turbo instead. and lowering kit is cheaper and has the same affect
SSplaytoy Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 I didn't know money was that much of an issue. You wanted to buy 24's =$$$. With a static drop, it may be cheap but bottoming out everywhere will suck after a while unless you get a daily driver. And if you want a turbo, you want to go fast, so IMO, stick with smaller wheels. You could go with a nice pair of 18's or 20's and be really low.
Xero Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 well im just exhausting my resources... asking questions seeing if somehting with work and if i can make it work.....even if it did i probably woudlnt get 23's i want 18's cause of the better weight and what not for the turbo....as much as i love style i love speed more
SSplaytoy Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 as much as i love style i love speed more If you were interested in bags, I might be able to get you a deal through suicidedoors.com. I am just warning you about the drop if you go that low. Bumps and shit will be a PITA.
Xero Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 i already know, pm me with the deal info... nick
04CHASE Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 get some 27's and have the same ride as a 22 these are the best looking one's as of now, i know lexani has another one not realeased yet. They are not the best lloking wheel by far imo. some may know this already but its pretty cool how they made these work, a 27 inch on the outside and a 22 on the inside, currently nitto has the only tire available for 27's , i have seen a few escalade's around here with them, bling bling is all i can say they are huge but weigh a ton its more show than go fo sho
DirtySSouth Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I have 24's on my SS with a shackle drop and torsion bars in the front were turned about 7 turns.....rides fine, no problems except trying to get it alligned.....no rubbing
