Dr Mike
Well trucks at my dealers body shop after having been cut off by a bozo that figured big red Stop sign was green lightcausing the impact to swing his side into mine pushing me into a stopped Jimmy. We have no fault insurance, meaning my insurance pays for complete repair. At least he got a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. The Airbag did not go off, no frame damage, all cosmetic, so in a sense I am lucky as I did not have a scratch even though the SS is pretty mushed up... $20K damage(Canadian Dollars), complete new front end including bumper, grill, all the lights, fenders and hood, both drivers side wheels, the drivers side box panel and left rear tailight + tons of other goodies. All is not all bad as everything is being replaced with new GM oem parts, no bondo, thank god. While they are at it a Keystone Restyling Ram Air hood is going on instead of stock steel unit. Look terrible right now but keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed that it will look as good as new when I pick it up on 18 February.... So after having gone though heart surgery in October consider myself very Lucky I was in a truck and not a Cavalier as I would be pretty mushed up. Dr Mike
OUCH! Sorry to hear that... never good when some dumbass hurts your baby. Looks like you didn't kill him... unless they have a computer and internet access in jail <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No part of the cardio stress management course i'm on must stay cool. Besides that I was too busy helping the guy in the squashed Jimmy that I was pushed into get out of his ride while the guy in the truck that cut me off stayed put. Definetely upsetting, no injuries... Not worth it and gained a friend that owns a squashed Jimmy... Dr Mike

Much better now has gained some ground and closing at @80 cents. That helps me when I go to Sovies Harley in Potsdam NY to buy parts,he takes Canadian money at par as well as many other places in NY State = more trips to US to buy stuff... misterp
Man that sucks - sorry to hear about your misfortune. You are right, things could have been a lot worse and it is good to hear you are ok. $20K Canadian is still a whole lot of damage, if it is all cosmetic they must be replacing about every panel except the doors! Best luck on the repair, glad to hear no deep mechanical problems. Mr. P.

gibby22
I am glad that everyone is ok and your SS is repairable... When I got rear ended a year ago by a 98 Mustang it got murdered! Both airbags went off in the Stang and there was nothing left of the front end. I was at a dead stop and she hit me going at least 35. The only way she got out of the car was due to the fact that it was a convert... Nothing like running into an almost 6000lb (Including Passengers) truck with a little mustang... Glad you are O.K.... BOB47
Good to hear you're o.k. Be sure to post some pics with the new hood. I think you'll be the first to have that hood on a blue SS. Should look good.
