cokedrvrbjw
Is it really worth the money to get a new tune? Just curious how many of you guys that have swapped out have had the check engine light come on, or any other problems for that matter. Is the impact on performance that noticable. Im borderline right now, cant afford a SC and want a little kick in the pants.
matt rem
You will see a very big gain in a custom tune, It is well worth the money.
styleandspeed
TUNES ON THESE TRUCKS ARE DEFINATELY WORTH THE MONEY!! I really think that it is worth every penny, and is the best bang for the buck mod on these trucks. I gained .3 sec and 3 mph in the 1/4 without even any learn time. Most people gain another tenth or 2 after they drive a few hundred miles. Great mod! Aaron
vtodd82
I agree, get the tune. I have a PCM4LESS and I give it a I had 2 seperate engine light problems, but both times Bryan at PCM4LESS fix it very quickly. I am engine light free and happy as can be with my tuned PCM. It really does make the truck alot funner to not to mention alot quicker.
WisconsinSS
What about tunes on stock trucks? I don't have the cash for a big mod and I modded my last truck so much it became unreliable for long trips so I am gun shy
Nightshift
What about tunes on stock trucks? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the best kind. If nothing else, get a tune. WW

styleandspeed
All I had was a CAI before my tune, and it was an EXCELLENT mod. It would be a wonderful mod for a completely stock truck too. Aaron
SSLink
A good custom tune will give you 30 HP easily, and that's not the whole story. Optimizing shift points and adjusting torque management make the SSS a whole new truck to drive. Get the most out of your factory setup. If you can do just two things get a tune (PCM for Less has best prices) and a K&N drop-in filter. I think you will be impressed with the results and enjoy your truck like never before. RacerJJ
I've got pcmforless and I really enjoy the benefits from it, however, I have had a plethera of engine light issues since I got it and can't seem to get them fixed. First one was the crankshaft relearn deal and now I have multiple misfire codes but the truck is not misfiring. I wish I could figure that one out then I would be 10x happier. Otherwise, I give the tune Edited February 25, 2005 by racerbubba (see edit history)

Otherwise, I give the tune <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i had a a couple of engine light problems too, but bryan took care of them quickly. i had the misfire engline light code too, just call bryan and tell him, and he will send another one out to you. he has to open up some parameters a bit (what he told me) and that will fix it for ya. i am engine light free now.
