SSplaytoy
I got the McG drop kit and my axel rides on my bumpstop. Has anyone cut theirs yet? I don't want to cut it and have it go lower. Then the back would be lower and that would look wierd.

Jonmalibuss
I have only cut one nub off of each with 2"drop
cokedrvrbjw
I did mine, both front and back. I cut them down until they werent touching while sitting still. I cut the fronts, on the back i removed the metal bracket that they are mounted to and then mounted them to the frame directly.
r8rs4lf
I don't know how you have yours set up on the rear, but if mine were riding on the bumpstops, it would drive me crazy! It's not so bad now that I've changed the location of the leave springs in the hangers. It really only hits when I fill the tank up and hit a big bump. If I remember right, when I talked to Mike @ MG, he said the leave springs should be installed in the upper hole in the shackle and the lower hole in the hanger. That's how they tested it anyhow. As for my bumpstops, the place that did the drop replaced the stock stops with some very short ones. Also, McGaughy's has some shorter ones also. yeary03SS
Are the front bump stops supposed to be touching with a stock suspension? Mine are and I was wondering if my torsion bars were cranked down.
cokedrvrbjw
mine were.

Just as cutting coil springs will give you a stiffer ride so will lowering and cutting your bump stops down but there is no way around it unless you remove them completely and install urethane bump stops but they are hard as a rock who wants that? You might also endup with a really spungy ride if it's not incontact with the factory stop. (I havn't tried it without so I couldn't say for sure)
evandostert
I think you guys are missing the point yes you can cut your bump stops. The ride will smooth out and ride better. the problem is that if you then lower your truck further down you will kill the drive shafts. If you hit a bump you can hear them grinding. I ended up with stock rear mg's kit and then cranked the torsion bars up 1/2" It rides nice just doesn't look much different from stock. The mg's kit in the rear caused a vibration and was hard to get a slight amount of lowering. I am going to try velvet ride shackles next in the rear. I have yet to try them. Hopefully when I do, it will get rid of my vibration. Late- Alex
cokedrvrbjw
My vibration went away when i took off the 22's for the winter and cut the stops.
SSplaytoy
I don't have vibration and I have 22's. Only when I hit a bump in the road does it bounce hard.
