I think they did that because the VIN is stored in it. Edit: I kind of think it was a "pro job" because the DID leave the engine and PCM behind. Both are traceable... A place up this way here that sells "wrecked" motorcycles got busted real bad. They didn't have many frames or things like that, but they did have a lot of motors.
