chevygal
I wanted to know if this is something ordinary with the SS or if it's just mine. I've had the SS just about a month now. I haven't been driving it every day because of the parking situation at work. I've only put gas in it three times and all three times I used 93. This week I noticed that when I'm sitting at a stop light or in traffic, I can feel the engine vibrating. It's sort of like when a motorcycle is idling but without the noise. It's not a really strong vibration that would shake the whole truck but I can definitely feel it under my seat and legs. I asked a friend of mine if his SS did that and he said no and that it sounds like it's running rich. Does anyone else's SS do this? Could it be from the 93 octane? I didn't notice it when I first got it. Not sure it's just the way this engine is. Not used to the bigger engine. My last truck was a Tahoe. Thanks. cokedrvrbjw
Ive always used 93. It does idle, well i wouldnt say rough...but you can feel the idle. I think its because its such a high power beast.
fox_forma
mine does it also, i thought it was a miss with one of the plug wires or something but its not and the truck runs great so maybe its just something that happens.
desrtrat
mines been doing the rough idle since new dealer went through it a couple ot times and could not fix. they had a 03 hd there and it did the same thing. its not too bad just anoying. about every 2500 mi. i put a can of injector cleaner in and it clears up for a while. service rep. stated that there was t tsb on the idle issue but only for sertion vin.# hope this helps... 04CHASE
mine does it also, i thought it was a miss with one of the plug wires or something but its not and the truck runs great so maybe its just something that happens. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> same here i actually bought taylor wires to see if it would fix it but nada i think its normal because my tahoe had misfires and i put new plugs on it and it went away, the truck isnt half as bad as the tahoe was so i think its the 6.0 because i dont show any cylinder misifriing when i hook up a scanner . chevygal
Thanks guys, I knew you'd put my mind at ease. Mine doesn't do it really strong either, it's just something that I noticed. Just wanted to make sure it was normal and not something to be concerned with. I am dying to open it up but the damn roads here are horrible with all the pot holes and sand. I have a nice stretch of highway that I used to take from Mass to NH but it's all torn up and decaying and bits of it fly up onto your truck. Now I have to take the long slow way.
