standby
With all the options and gauge clusters available to swap into new trucks, how can you tell how many miles a truck REALLY has? Can you have the dealer or mechanic plug into a diagnostic program and pull up actual miles? I was reading a thread on LS1tech.com about odometer fraud and got concerned. Hell, I may need to buy a used truck someday and want know what I'm actually getting.
tawss04
On GM vehicles today the mileage is recorded in the pcm and bcm, some of their vehicles will let the dealer tech read the mileage, not sure if the trucks will. GM has waysto retreive info from the vehicles but wont let the dealers even access it. If you want you want find about the history of a vehicle you can go to carfax.com and check, sometimes it will show up.
