TurbochargedBerserker
Yes i am positive it got a BMW turbo deisel crank and custom rods with high comp pistons! All they did was take the pan off take the guides and other things off from the bottom and shoved the whole rotating assembly up in there! And it screams!! Major autocross sleeper! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is a total rebuild.
bobjr
But it did not have to be removed from the car or have the heads torn off or be bored!?
BenKey
But it did not have to be removed from the car or have the heads torn off or be bored!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes....but there was nothing left of the short block that didn't get replaced. Therefore, it was a complete rebuild.
Farmtruc
At the least, if you're going to open up the engine, have it freshened up and a nice hone job. After seeing and being around a machine shop that has done about 20 ls1 style engine rebuilds in the past month, I'm noticing that these stock engines are assembled with very little care, tolerance, and quality. Find yourself a reputable machine shop, have some good rings and pistons installed and have fun. That's next on my list, a full rebuild for the turbo. good luck, allen
