manul cutouts

i just got my manual summit cutouts today. they included 2 metal flanges and 2 paper gaskets with the cutouts though. why do these come with them?? i was just going to weld the cutouts into the piping.

 

to uncork it, you just simply unscrew the 3 wingnuts and pull that plate and gasket off right?

 

will there be any leaking with cutouts when i have the corked up.

 

any information as to the install and operating of these, i would greatly appreciate.

pretty straight forward. weld it into the exhaust and take off the plate when you want it open. there should be very little if any leaking with the covers in place.

when i close my cutouts there is no leaking at all, it sounds like it did the first day i bought it. And what size cutouts did you go with?

i have the 2.5 inche summit cutouts.

 

i recently had them welded in, and i am very impressed. no leaking at all.

Howcome you got 2.5 inch cutouts? Is your new exhaust smaller diam. than stock? Stock before the muffler is 2.75.

thats the biggest size summit had for sale at the price i paid for.

 

it was no problem getting them to fit.
