OneBadSSS
So I found a leftover new '04 SSS (well two actually, a black one and a blue one, both built the same) at Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD. I want the black one, and right now I'm negotiating price via email with the sales manager, but I would really appreciate it if there is someone in MD that lives close to Gaithersburg that wouldn't mind taking a look at the truck for me and seeing what kinda condition it's in, checking the the build date (so I know how long it's been on their lot) and also, how many miles are on it. I'd do it myself, but I live in Norfolk, VA, 3 and a half hours south of the dealership, and with my crazy hours this week, I wouldn't be able to make it up there before Saturday, which is when I'd like to buy the truck if I can get the price I want for it! So, if any of you MD guys/gals can help me out, it would be most appreciated!
Aspentaylor
I would help you out, but right now I barely have time to do anything. Finals are approaching and I have more homework than I know what to do with. If no one volunteers by the 17th I would be happy to go there for you. Unfortunately right now I can't. On that note-time to write a 7 page paper.... Let me know.
OneBadSSS
Thanks Taylor, but I don't think you'll even need to bother. The salesman I'm dealing with quoted me at $36,654, for a LEFTOVER!!!!!!! I told him if he wanted to make a sale he'd have to do way better than $300 below invoice on a truck that's probably been collecting dust on their lot for atleast a year! I told him I could get a similarly equipped '05 for the price he was asking (keep in mind they have the truck listed on their website at $47K and tried to tell me MSRP was $3,000 more than it actually was) so I offered $29,500 + tax/title/tags and this was his response "The truck in question has $3,000 in chrome rims and tires added to it, better look into that '05!" Can you believe that crap? What an @$$****!!!! Don't ever buy anything from Criswell Chevrolet!
Aspentaylor
What a load of crap! I would have told him to.....yeah I am not going to go there! I bought mine for less than that. RETARDS! Right now I am talking w/ Fox. I asked them about their black 05 which is not even on the lot yet. It has chrome wheels and a sunroof. I think what I am going to do is walk in their w/ a check and tell them I will write a check out for a certain amount and walk out w/ the truck. Wonder how that is going to work out. I think it should be fun! That is what I sort of did last time. Fun stuff! Let me know how everything works out for you! GOOD LUCK! I hate messing w/ dealerships! I screwed Tate out of a sale twice. They offered too much so I went somewhere else. I am known there as Ms. JBA!! I HATE TATE!
OneBadSSS
Yeah, I was in the same boat. I looked into a new black loaded '05 for a time, but the best offer I could find before rebates was $39784. If I can get a leftover new '04 for $30K, I'll pay $1200 to get an ASC sunroof installed and buy some flex-a-lite 282 e-fans and basically have a better truck for about $7K less! Good luck with your deal, don't let them pressure you! For some reason, dealers seem to think we are all a bunch of yuppy idiots who don't know anything about the vehicles we come into to purchase, when we almost always know more than they do!!! Aspentaylor
I guarantee I will know more than the dealer. Already he a couple of them think I am an idiot. Oh well. Screw them. Hopefully you can find a good deal. I might do the same thing, but w/ an 05 left over. The end of the lawsuit I have against GM is not approaching that quickly!
