dneumannjr
I have been reading through a lot of posts over the last few days. I am trying to determine what tranny mods will best suit my needs given the direction that I am going with my SS. I have a 2003 SS, I have a cat-back exhaust, K&N FIPK GENII, and PCM Forless tune. I am looking to get into the 13's with the truck NA and would like to run a 75 or 100 shot eventually just for a little more fun occassionally. My questions right now relate to my trans. I was looking to do the Zippy shift kit, and possibly a Converter. Is the converter necessary with my intentions? I will be doing some towing, probably close to 5000 - 5500lbs. Not alot but will need to do at least that. Am I fine with the stock converter and a shift kit or should I look at an upgraded Converter? Thanks for the help ! hellbents10
A converter will definatly help you on your quest for the 13's. With such a mild shot of juice a trailblazer converter would work nicely for you. I personally like the Zippy kit but the Transgo does its job too. It would be nice for you to ride in a vehicle with both to see what you would like more. Some people like the transgo and some like the Zippy kit. You see where I am going here right? Its a matter of prefrence with the shift kits.

I guess more specifically what will be the benefits to the TB Converter over stock? What will I see? Are there any negatives to it? I appreciate the info !! hellbents10
I would limit the towing to about 5000lbs. or so. Other then that you will be rewarded with a better 60ft. time.

I also tow and will be doing the shift kit, TB converter and tune all at the same time. JOSH

I have a 76 Camaro that I am wokring on and I am going to need to get hit from here to there and will want to have it on a car trailer. What does a typical car trailer weigh? I believe the Camaro is about 3600 pounds.
