fox_forma
Just seeing what kind of Digi everyone is using and what batteries do you use. I got a gateway digi when I bought my printer/scanner, it was a package deal. I'm sure its really like a kodak or something just with the gateway name on it for promotion purposes but anyway, batteries dont last longer than like 30min on this thing and it is really pissing me off. I'm about to buy a different brand rechargeable batteries than what I have now. I forget the brand but there like 1800 mah(sp?) AA. What brands tends to work the best with digi's and I see theres like rechargeable batteries that are like 2500muh(sp?) What is the difference between those numbers? So what is everyone using and how long do they last in your camera?
kaotik1
Belive it or not, the Radio Shack rechargables are really good.. Thats what I use for mine. they are also kind of inexpensive.
misterp
It is a little-known secret but Radio Shack does make excellent batteries. I bought AAA rechargeable ones for mini RC cars and they last a very long time; their price is reasonable too, got charger plus eight batteries (AAA) on sale for $24. Also, for digital cameras, go straight for the nickle metal hydride, forget alkalines or regular NiCad rechargeables. Mr. P.
fox_forma
ok but whats up with them numbers like 1800-2500, is higher the number better?
infinus
The higher the number the more milli-amp hours the battery is capable of storing. That doesn't mean the battery will last through more charge/discharge cycles however. Just that at first it'll be able to hold more charge. r8rs4lf
Try using the viewfinder instead of the screen. It will use less battery life. BTW, I use Energizer Nickel Metal Hydride batteries in my Sony digi cam. They're alright, but I do have 3 pairs of them so if some go dead, I have backup. Late- Alex <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am a Buyer by trade and viewfinder is way to go. Remember NiMh (rechargeables) are only 1.25 volts. LCD screen are power hungry, think of it as driving uphill with a SS Gas needle faster than speedo or coasting downhill(pedal depressed of course ) Although there are many brands out there, the Duracell and Energizer are the best... others perform well and some others aren't worth the cost of their packaging...Caveat Emptor you get what you pay for. Radio Shack(Tandy Corp) do have very good batteries, but if you are a wise shopper you will be able to pick up the top cells(Costco) for same price or less. Avoid cold weather(heat them in your pockets in cold weather) as you lose 50/70% usability. The higher the ma the better, 1800 is good for low end point and shoot, but 2300 is much better(even some 2500 out there). Also quick charged batteries drain quicker than those that require longer charge cycle (ie Nitrous vs Gasoline , you get the picture) Alkalines(1.5 Volts) are an expensive alternative in emergencies and are readily availble at any corner store. Hope this helps Dr Mike
