popeye55
hey everyone..searched but i had no luck with this. I was reading thru my hotrodding mag. and i came across a article where they had added a pouch with velcro across the intake manifold on a new GTO. I do not remeber the brand name, but it was a black bag that you placed two refreezable ice packs into as to cool teh charged air. it added from 30 to 50 hp depending on pack temp, and cool down between passes on the dyno. has anyone used these or heald of this? i am sure there are more hotrodding readers that may have heard of this. i guess bang for the buck it would be a good drag strip trick . not much use on the street but i like a nice time slip to talk about. what do you think?? thanks everyone! TurbochargedBerserker
I used to ice the intake piping and manifold on my 5.0 before every run. It makes a difference. You can just use a bag of ice (but don't let it melt all over the staging lanes).

Krambo
The drag strips that I go to sell bags ice for that purpose. I have done it and it works as long as the staging lanes are not too long I have seen guys coil their fuel line inside a coffee can and then pack it full of dry ice. Some swear by it and others say it is a waste of time.

TurbochargedBerserker
I'll be icing my intake piping or the intercooler if I can figure out an easy way to do it at the track.
