98 SS ON NOS
after beating a sivlerado ss in my v6 sonoma at my local track my father totally lost interest in the 40 grand truck that runs so slow. Evan a single cab 5.3 with 373 gears and exhuast beat him and ran a 15 flat. and saved 20 grand now we are looking at the 2004 and wondering if they are still coming out with a single cab ss, 6 speed with no radio etc thanks guys tony
zippy
nobody knows for sure yet, but i'm betting on it being produced. i wouldn't expect to hear a positive go on it until around november/december area if it were decided and build to start in 04'. ChevelleBoy
after beating a sivlerado ss in my v6 sonoma No offense, but that's one I'd have to see to believe...not sure what your smokin', but it surely wasn't an SS with an able driver behind the wheel. 98 SS ON NOS
cheville boy 15.2@88 in my sonoma with bolt ons. 2.0 60 foot on 26x10.5x15 et streets, and my 98 s10 ss ran 13.3@102 on a 75 shot no internals wiht a 1.84 60 foot and a 14.0@99 with a 2.38 60 foot on 275 35 18s check out my web page. oh yah and i have a built 4.3 and a guy ran a 12.5 on a 75 shot and i have higher lift cam, ported heads, higher comp and im running a 150 shot so at least low 12s for sure heres a video just for you to prove what i said http://www.slammed98gmc.com/12_59.mpg here goes my friends 97 s10 ss ran a 14.3@94 all motor. stock cam, stock heads. Kens 97 SS S10 oh btw that sliverado ss i ran on the freeway coming home from the track after 90 mph and i pulled even more on him. that 410 gear is killing them, but out the hole that gearing gets the weight up and going. ive seen a single cab 5.3 silverado with 373 gearing option beat a silverado ss 4 times at the street races. btw the sileverdo ss i ran ran a 15.5@86 THANKS FOR THE INFO DCAIRUS I APRECIATE THE INFO our blazer x ran a 15.9@84 with intake and exhaust also
ChevelleBoy
Well...the truth comes out. I guess the devil is in the details. I thought it was apples vs. oranges and it was more like grapes vs. grapefruits. Hot mods and light trucks that hook up make a difference. A couple nice rides there dude! The way you left that guy on the line still makes me wonder if the guy behind the wheel knew how to get up on the wheel when it's time to go, but then again these extend cabs are pretty heavy. whitebowtie
395 Horses is great, but if we want to compete with the Dodge Ram SRT-10 with 500 horses and the new L with 500 horses and the "Supercooler" that gives it 50 extra horses, we need some more umph! Maybe 550 horses! Wow. If we could just get Chevy to bolt on one of those Magnachargers!!! If they put a magnacharger on the 395 horse engine, considering a 50% power gain, it would have about 590 ponies! Wow again. Ok time for me to stop dreaming. Maybe Chevy could make that an SS option, a blown 6 liter with AWD (i dont think RWD would handle the power.)
